How Many Flowers?

Elizabeth, on October 9, 2020 at 11:13 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

How do you figure out how many flowers you need? I will need 1 Bride's bouquet, 1 Bridesmaid's bouquet, 2 boutonnieres(do I need any for our dads or grandpas?), 4 corsages(do I really need those?), 16 aisle markers, a bouquet for the cake and punch table, one for the guestbook table, maybe one for the gift table, flowers for an arbor, a couple of flower pillars, flower crowns for myself, my bridesmaid, and the flower girl, and some flowers for the cake and cupcakes. I want to use white hydrangeas in my bouquet, blue in the bridesmaids bouquet and on the tables, and I was thinking of alternating blue and white for the aisle markers. I also want white calla lilies, pink carnations, white baby's breath, and greens. I'm going for a more rustic look.

Are you arranging your own flowers? If so, contact customer service at fiftyflowers.com and ask their advice.
Typically parents and grandparents receive corsages/bouts to set them apart as easily identifiable. Ask the parents if they want them but keep a consistent look for everyone.
    Your ideas sound beautiful.

It depends on how many you want. I'll only have one bouquet for myself.

Yes, I plan on arranging my own flowers. Do I have to buy flowers from fiftyflowers in order to get their advice?

I wouldn't think you would have to buy anything to get advice

You would need to talk to a florist (or whoever you're ordering the flowers from) to figure that out because it really varies depending on what you actually want your arrangements to look like/how big they're going to be. If you're ordering your flowers online, sites like fifty flowers sell kits and have guides to help you figure out what you need in terms of flowers and also tools, vases, etc.
If you're arranging your own flowers, you may want to reconsider using hydrangeas. Calla lilies and carnations are pretty strong, so you don't have to worry as much about setting them at the very last minute. Hydrangeas don't last as long once they've been cut, so they might wilt by the time you could really enjoy them. If you were mainly using them because they come in blue, there are a few other types of blue flowers that would hold up better.

Go to a store which sells faux flowers. Take aa much as you think you want. Look at your reflexion in the mirror. Add or take out and see what you prefer 😉

So what I did was figure out how many flowers in each bouquet I wanted. I am not doing any other flowers then bouquets and boutonnieres for the BP. I made two courageous, seven boutonnieres and eight bouquets with plenty of flowers left over. I ordered 50 in each of my colors which is black, white, and silver. I did fake flowers. So what I would do is see what kind of flowers you want and go online and see if there is a particular look you are wanting and that should give you a rough estimate of how many flowers you want to use.
