How many gifts?

Cori, on July 9, 2018 at 12:10 PM Posted in Registry 0 13
Registry Questions: 1. How many guests did you invite? 2. How many gifts did you register for? 3. How gifts did you get? (If already been married)4. Did people that didn't come send you gifts?
I want to make I'm registering for enough, not too much or too little. Thank you beautiful ladies! ❤️

There really is no way to over register, most places will tell you that you should have 3 gifts per guest, and in many price ranges. In my experience, if you are not having a shower a registry doesn't matter. People have us money at the wedding, mostly because most of our guests and we had to travel to get there and were moving immediately after. It does seem to be the norm for cash at the wedding and gifts for showers only.

I will say the registry for the discount afterward was why we did it.

We invited 150 guests. I registered for everything I needed and wanted for our new home. I was registered on BB&B and Walmart. For some who didn’t come they sent thru the mail. Register for enough because you don’t want people getting the same things. Although on bed bath and beyond it lets you know what was purchased to you and the purchaser that way no one gets the same gifts. For the most part I received almost everything that I wanted plus I received a ton of gift cards and money to be able to buy the rest of the things I needed.

What they said. Plus just keep an eye on it and you can always add more if you see it getting too empty.

    1. 220

    2. 80 gifts

We haven't had our wedding yet. We registered for a smaller registry on Amazon, hoping the rest will just give cash.

Only register for things you genuinely want or need. Do not throw things in your registry just because you want to have enough choices because I've found that I got many of those gifts instead of what I really wanted.

Inviting 180, expecting 115. 35 invites to the shower. 80 gifts on our registry. A couple of people who can't make my shower have sent gifts already. We anticipate mainly monetary gifts for the wedding and I added a bunch of stuff to the registry for the completion discount (20% on Amazon).

We invited 150. Between our three registries, we have about 110 items listed. They range from $10 to $200 (knife set and food processor). I think 85% are under $100 and 50% are under $50.

We are still almost 3 months out but have had our showers and received like 45 gifts. Some small kitchen gadgets, some big things like a bed set and 3-in-1 crock pot.

Some older family members have told us that typically people send a gift or money if invited, even if they can't attend.

We have 131 households on our invite list so over 250 people. We registered for around 125 things I believe. Still 3 months from our wedding and we have two showers coming up within the next month but so far we’ve received 15 gifts. I agree with pps that most people won’t bring a physical gift to the wedding.

I agree you chat over register. I made sure to have various price ranges and registered at 3 places, one of which was strictly online. I received a lot of what 2e had asked for and tons of cash and checks.
