My husband and I legally married last year and had our wedding celebration a couple of weeks ago. We received wedding gifts and/or cards from fewer than half of our wedding guests. I know traditionally guests have had up to one year to give a gift, but the current custom is within a few months since things just don't take as long as they used to.
I am planning to order wedding specific thank you cards with a photograph from our wedding, but I don't know how many to order. I could always order the correct amount for the number of gifts we have currently received and then just supplement any late gifts with generic thank you cards. I could also wait until the three-month mark to send out thank yous, but that seems late to me and I'd prefer not to delay.
We already sent thank yous for all the gifts we received last year. Last year I just did generic cards and just put a wallet photo from our wedding inside, but I have a print credit from our stationary company for messing up a product we ordered for the wedding, so I'd really like to use it for our thank yous to make them something more special. I do not plan on sending thank yous to people just for attending.
