How many guests should i be expecting?

Alain, on March 17, 2021 at 2:41 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

Hello! I am having a local wedding and we have prepared for 200 people. However, I realized that we have invited roughly 209 people. Should I be preparing for 10 more seats? Or should I assume not every individual will be coming?

What is your Covid capacity? Always prepare for 100% attendance. You should have sent reply card cards or an online reply system such as rsvpify.com. Contact them the day after your deadline because your caterer will require an accurate headcount for meals. There is no way to guess until you get the replies.

Our venue does not have a covid capacity and our food is no issue. The vendor who is serving our food is very flexible and just wants a good estimate, he is ok if it ends up being a little under. We do have a website to rsvp on and his side of the family will definitely be coming but they have not rsvpd at all, that is just something they do. Which is frustrating but there is too many of them to reach out one by one.

Like Michelle said, always expect and prepare for 100% attendance! Check when you need official head counts by for your vendors, and start contacting people that haven't RSVP'd once that date gets closer!

If certain people refuse to RSVP, then again, just expect 100% attendance. Better to have more than not enough!

I would prepare for your 209 guests. There might be a few that can’t make it. We invited 105 & 100 confirmed.

It's always better to have too much food than not enough. Some people don't rsvp and you have to track them down. Break the number down over several days starting the day after the rsvp due date and have fiance help call but do not continue planning anything until you call and get their responses.

You should always be prepared for everyone to accept. Normally you don't have to give a final headcount to catering until a few weeks before the wedding.

You should prepare for the number you invited.
