How many guests?

Michelle, on March 29, 2022 at 11:14 PM Posted in Planning 19 22
How many did you decide to invite? Did you increase or cut the list at any point before save the date notices were sent?

I’m doing 30 guest list in total. I wanted an intimate wedding and I’m on a budget. So I couldn’t even afford a regular size wedding if I wanted to, lol.

I am inviting 65 - but wish it was closer to 50.

My problem is I sent the Save The Dates when we were using a large venue to our "main list".

Now that we have switched to a smaller backyard venue - I wish we could cut the list - but I will not NOT invite all who received a Save the Date...

My lesson was I wish we only sent STDs to immediate family

I have around 65. We each only have contact with one side of our family and like almost no friends 😅

We invited 175. Because we had such a long engagement, our list has changed significantly, mostly when it comes to people's partners. Some broke up and others have met someone and become serious. There are also a lot who live overseas, so we already knew they wouldn't come, but that goes double now with COVID. We think we'll end up with ~145 which is good, because I was originally worried about his parents taking over the guest list and turning it into a 200-person event.

We were shooting for around 100 people (based it on budget). I sent out 86 save the dates and AFTER I sent out save the dates was when my future father in law gave me the list of people he wanted invited from his side. 🙄 So we are inviting more than 100 but theres quite a few that I am pretty sure wont attend (like my uncle who lives in Africa) .

Our guest list increased - twice! We planned to invite 125-150 guests, but then sent out save the dates to 175. Our guest list increased again when we sent our formal wedding invitations to 213 guests (including plus ones and kids). We honestly weren’t sure how many would attend - between new COVID variants and many guests living out of state - so we were starting to feel a bit concerned over the budget. But, all said and done, we have 105 attending our ceremony and 95 attending our reception (as of Monday). It’ll be interesting to see if we have any last minute additions/cancellations, as about 60 guests didn’t RSVP until the day of or within a few days after our RSVP deadline (lots of texts, emails, phone calls).

My guest list has increased but only like 3-4 people. So in total now I have about 58 guest. But I do expect some people won’t come. So I’m expecting 53-55 people. Nothing based of budged only because we knew we weren’t inviting a lot of people.

We're inviting 95 people. The guest list definitely increased some when we realized some people really needed plus ones but even then we expect MAYBE 60 to show?

Well we started with 75 and ended up with 300. Family flying overseas whom I didn’t even think to invite because of Covid.

Our list definitely increased just due to extended family, family friends, and people who we figure probably won't come but we're sending an invite to anyways. We estimated we'd have about 100 people on the list. Then when FH and I sat down to write the list out we came to about 125. After sending it out to our parents we landed around 150. I'm sure A LOT of people won't come due to being out of state, COVID, etc. so depending on how that shakes out once we send save the dates, we may end up adding a few people to the invite list.

I think we invited like 300 and then we had like a 20% decline rate

When we got engaged I wanted 75-80 tops. But my fiancé's family is too big so right now we're at 98. Our saving grace is that we're having a separate reception for my family on the east coast. We just sent out our Save the Dates, and they got their own version of a save the date, but aren't being invited to the wedding (just the east coast party). It would be about 200 if we weren't splitting it.

My fiancé is thinking we'll be at 90 at the end of the day, I'm thinking we may end up being closer to my preferred 80.

My original guest list was 130. Recently reconnected with family members I haven't seen in years. Our guest list is now close to 200.

On the plus side: our wedding is out of state, so we're estimated to have half the amount show up. 🤞🤞🤞

We started out with 65 guests, then somehow it grew to 98! Most of our guests are out of state, but a lot are super psyched to come so I am not too sure what the end numbers will be. 🤔

We had about 170 total on our guest list including the plus ones. We were aiming for 125-150 guests. We have 140 total who are actually coming.
