How many hours for hair and make up?

Marie , on August 8, 2018 at 11:15 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
Hi all,

I have 6 bridesmaids but they are all doing their own hair/make up. My mom and I are the only ones who are getting our make up done. My MOH Is doing my hair.

how many hours should I set aside to get ready? I currently have 4.5 hours. Is that enough?

4.5 seems a lot if most people are doing their own hair and makeup. My MUA needs 5 hours for 7 ladies and my hair stylist needs 4 hours for 9 ladies.

I forgot to mention, the 4.5 hours will include time for pictures with the photographer in our robes and pictures with moms and grandma’s

4.5 hours sounds like enough time for you, but keep in mind if other people in your bridal party need more time (I highly doubt it). I was part of a wedding where I did my own hair/makeup and it took me 4-6 hours because I was running around doing errands (and eating ... I was super hungry lol).

Is everyone getting ready with you (Hair, makeup, and showering)? Do you plan to eat within the 4.5 hours? Does anyone need to do errands within that time? I’m pretty sure it can all be done, just make sure you have the day of planned out so that you’re stress free!! Smiley smile

This sounds very rushed. Is your hair stylist bringing extra people? We had two hair stylists for 4 adults and a 3 year old and it took almost 3 hours.

OP, I think 4.5 hours is good. It will likely take at least an hour for you to get your hair done, plus you need to make sure that your MOH has time to do her own. Everyone will probably want to eat something as well before you start pictures.

Oh, then 4.5 hours seems reasonably since that also include photos. Smiley smile

I would ask your stylist what she needs for 2 services. Then I'd plan on another 45 minutes - 1 hour for your MOH to do yours. I'd probably plan 3-4 hours to be safe in case it takes longer than expected. So I think you're great!

4.5 is good, you always want plenty of time & not having to rush! & if something goes wrong, you'll have time to fix it.
