How many hours is your photographer booked?

Jordan, on August 7, 2019 at 10:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 52

Currently I have my photographer and videographer booked for 8 hours but when created my timeline it looks like I may need to add time. How many hours do you have your photographers booked for? If you wouldn't mind, can you share your photography timeline?

I have mine booked for 9 hours but am thinking of adding one more. So she could show up at noon and leave around 10 pm- I love getting ready and send off pictures!

We have ours for 10hrs. They are starting at 1pm and end at 11pm. They are starting with basic shots of the dress and what not, then getting ready, bride and bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen, first look and then bridal party and family photos. Our ceremony starts at 445. We have 2 photographers and getting all the group shots done beforehand so we can enjoy cocktail hour with everyone. Then at some point they are going to pull us for sunset shots and then night shots.

We had ours for 8. Two hours of getting ready and 6 hours for the wedding. We took all our together pictures during cocktail hour.

We have ours "all day". I definitely want getting ready photos, but don't know if I want her to come to the hair and makeup salon. Either way, I definitely want her from around noon (getting dressed) to 11pm (sendoff).

My photographer said that he stays until he is done. He shot my friends wedding last month and he left a little while after cake cutting. IMO how many pictures of your guests dancing do you really need? Most leave during the dancing/party time.

10 hours! This way we can get some pictures in while getting ready/before we leave for the church and will be with us until 10 (an hour before the reception ends). Pictures are super important to me so I wanted a lot of coverage throughout the day.

Only two, it’s a small wedding and package deals were out of our budget. We still wanted professional photos so we compromised on hours. We just want photos of first look, ceremony and portraits. We have a fun DIY photobooth for guests to use as well.

We are doing 9 hours. Right now I'm thinking first look at 11:30 and then they leave around 8:30. Getting ready pictures are included in the package but I don't care about them that much. I care more for pictures of guests having fun at the reception. I don't feel the photographer needs to stay until the end because we don't need THAT many dancing pictures! Also we aren't doing a send off to take pictures of.

I have 45 minutes for first look/couple pictures, family pictures and bridal party pictures each. (so 2 hours and 15 minutes total). I have no idea if that's a good amount of time or too much? I've got time to tweak the schedule still. If my photographer says we don't need that much time, then I will push our first look back to 12 and we can have a little more time for getting ready pictures. The later I can push back first look the better; that way I don't have to be up quite as early lol

We have ours for 6. It's what we could afford with the photographer we liked. It'll be a squeeze for him to be there for the time period we wanted but we didn't really want many pre ceremony pics and are definitely fine with him leaving during the reception and not staying for send off pics so hopefully it'll be fine

We have one photographer for 6.5 hours (included with your venue cost). We have the option to add additional time with a second photographer, which I will likely look into as the day gets closer (we aren't getting married until October 2020). I think I want 'getting ready' photos, not sure yet.

Right now I only have a rough timeline for photos:

    9:00AM - Bride's Family Photos

    10:00AM - Groom's Family Photos

    11:00AM - Ceremony Starts

    11:30AM - 12:00PM - Bride & Groom Photos

    12:00PM - Grand Entrance

    3:30PM - Departure Photos

Ours is booked for "all day" is what their package says. Which is they show up 3 hours before ceremony start and leave 3 hours after FH and I enter the reception (grand entrance). For us having a traditional full Catholic mass for our wedding and a evening reception with dinner, our photographer will arrive at 11 am and leave around 9pm. So around 10 hours.

We will have her be taking detail shots and getting ready shots when she arrives and then have a first look around noon (Ceremony is at 2pm). After the ceremony (~3pm) we will start taking family portraits in front of the altar/church. Then go to a local gardens for more portraits of just us and wedding party photos. Get to reception around 5:30/6pm with dinner starting at 6pm.

We booked two photographers for 9 hrs each.

They are starting at 1PM with getting ready photos.

2 - 4.30 Bridal portraits, groom and groomsmen pics, entire bridal party, first look and family formals

    5.15-5.45 ceremony

    5.45 -6.25 post ceremony pics

Then we get into dinner etc. Last call is at 10:30, which at that point i felt the photog will only get pics of people dancing and such, so I dont mind him wrapping up at 10.

We arent doing a send off.

8 hours but I'm thinking about paying the additional $ to change it to all day so she can come a little earlier for more getting ready Smiley smile

    10 hours. Will arrive at 11:00 a.m. and leave by 9:00 p.m.
Basically will be leaving just after the dancing starts.

We booked for 8 hours, single shooter.

1:00PM: Photographer arrives, getting ready shots (he commented no one wants to have "real" getting ready photos before make-up is done)
    2:30PM: First look
    2:45PM: Bridal party photos
3:15PM: Family photos and site ready & detail shots
    4:00PM: Ceremony
4:30PM: Cocktail hour and finish remaining photos
    ...
    8:15PM: Sunset photos
9:00PM: Photographer leaves (dancing has been open for an hour and a half at this point, so he commented it would just be a lot of the same if he stayed later)

Mine is all day! He says he averages about 15 hours on a given wedding day. He will also be at our rehearsal dinner to get to know everyone. I don't have a set schedule yet- but since I am HUGE on the little details and have stacks of photos for days (I love them!), I am guessing I'll have him arrive around 9 or 10 AM for getting ready shots. He stays until the reception is over to take a shot of everyone who made it through the whole night!
