How many hours is your photographer booked?

Currently I have my photographer and videographer booked for 8 hours but when created my timeline it looks like I may need to add time. How many hours do you have your photographers booked for? If you wouldn't mind, can you share your photography timeline?

I actually hadn't thought of that. I think I am skipping the grand exit so I could probably let them leave a bit early.

We got married on a Monday, so I knew guests would be leaving shortly after cake cutting and didn't want to waste money! Plus, like others said, you don't really need a bunch of dancing pictures. I did 4 hours and got a deal for it being a weekday. It was the perfect amount! I maybe could have done 5 to bump up my getting ready photos, but I don't have any regrets.

I did 1 hour before 6:30 ceremony and we cut our cake around 9 and she stayed until 9:30! We got getting ready photos, venue photos, ceremony photos, portraits with each other and bridal party/family, and then reception which included toasts, quick shoe game, and then cake cutting.

I think it depends on what you want in the day! We took our own getting ready photos with our phones in the hotel getting hair and makeup, so that helped. If you want that professional, plus the whole wedding, then 8 hours would probably be best!

We just have a photographer for 6 hours. I love his pictures and he was willing to work with us on budget so that was important. We also have a small wedding, under 70 including us, and our ceremony and reception are in the same location so minimal travel time. When we discussed it with him he felt confident he could capture everything we want in that time. My plan is to have him come at 4pm and leave at 10pm, with our ceremony at 6ish.

I think 8 hrs is plenty of hours cause we were looking into that for one of our options, I had the same question, and then our now photographer said that a lot of the photographers play the hour game, and he said the breaks do not count of course and that the photographer needs to have enough photos for their portfolio. Example the getting ready session and then your reception is like 2 hrs later that should not count, or the moment of changing from ceremony to reception. And if you are working with a timeline back to back your wedding is fine.

Me too! I can't afford a longer amount of time. We were already getting a discount because we are her first "first-shooter" wedding.

Ours is booked for 8 hours, more than that is $100/hour. We may choose to add time, but for now 8 hours of coverage seems like plenty.

I'm with Erin. 6 hrs, minimal pre-ceremony and no send off pics.

Don’t feel bad, I only booked for four hours.
2:00 - family and wedding party pics
    3:00 - ceremony
    3:15/3:20 - reception
5:30 - possibly sunset pics but it would involve basically abandoning my reception so I’m on the fence.

We booked ours for 5 hours. She came 30 mins before the ceremony began, and left 30 mins before the reception ended. We got about 3000 photos back, 1100+ edited, so I’d say it was definitely enough time

We had our photographer for 8 hours. I thought it was plenty to document everything we needed!

5 hours! It’s a bit short since she won’t be doing our get ready photos but will be there for first look, ceremony, and the first hour of our reception.

I have my photographer booked for 8 hours as of this moment. However, given the fact that we are starting our wedding at noon, we are considering shortening it to 6 hours. Luckily we booked with an old college classmate of my fiancé’s who is understanding and wrote our contract so we could change the time if we needed to. We didn’t hire a videographer though. We only wanted someone to record the ceremony and knew that if my fiancé set up his camera and tripod we just needed someone to turn the camera on and then off, which someone in my family agreed to.

I hired mine for 5 hours. It was one of her most popular packages and I was able go customize it to include engagement photos, album for us, 2 parent books, she's designing or guest book with our engagement photos, we get a box of print pictures as well for a little over 4,000. I think it was totally worth it and it all depends on venue and size of wedding as well. I think 5 hours would be plenty. Not sure if I want to do any getting ready but if I do I might plan on adding an hour or 2

I'm paying a total of $150 for 3 hours. This includes a USB with rights to print. I didn't have thousands to spend on pictures

My situation is a bit different. Mine is a friend i've known since 5th grade. She's also a guest and will be there the entire time.
