How many hours is your photographer booked?

Currently I have my photographer and videographer booked for 8 hours but when created my timeline it looks like I may need to add time. How many hours do you have your photographers booked for? If you wouldn't mind, can you share your photography timeline?

For my photographer, I have her booked for about 8-9 hours. And my videographer, I booked them for 10 hours. I am soooo happy with both of them!

We have an all day package which is 12 hours BUT we will be using only 10 because of timeline. We don't get our venue until noon so photographer will be there at noon to start taking pictures and will be there till 10 for our sendoff.

I only have mine for 6hrs (for now). Our wedding will be from 6-1130. I have the photographer from 4-10. At 4 they're able to get photos of me and my BMs and my FH and his GM getting ready. Not much is really going to happen after 10 - there's only so many dance floor pictures you can get. BUT if we do want him longer he said he's more than happy to stay and we can settle it after honeymoon. Very happy with my choice in photographer.

Our videographer is going to be around the same time. Might come a little earlier. It's one of my sisters friends I haven't had a good chance to talk to him about it yet. He did an amazing job on my sister's wedding video!

We booked ours for 9 hours. From 2PM until 11PM. We get about 2 hours of pre-ceremony photography and then he will be there until the end of the event.

    2:00-2:30 Get ready photos

2:30 -4:00 First look and some family photos

    Time to relax before ceremony

    4:30-5:00 Ceremony photos

    5:00-600 Bridal party, family, etc

    Then reception!

4 hours. We are having a non traditional wedding. Important photos to me are scene setters, a couple getting ready (it will take me literally two minutes to get dressed), ceremony, us as a couple, us with our kids. We aren't doing traditional wedding photo ops like cake cutting, first dances, bouquet/garter toss, etc... so I didn't want to pay someone to be there all day. I worked for a wedding photographer many many years ago and I'll tell you that while everyone enjoyed laughing at reception photos while looking through the pics, very few made it into anyone's wedding albums.

    Edited to add, timeline:

4:00 pm Photographer arrives takes scene setters and getting ready photos

4:30-5:30 pm First look, photos as a couple, photos with kids

    5:45 ceremony

6:15 ish - 7:30 after ceremony couples photos in sunset light followed by photos with parents/family units

    8:00 pm photographer leaves

We have “unlimited hours” with 2 photographers and a videographer. I don’t think the 2nd photographer will be there all night but the first one will, as will the videographer. We spent a little more than we anticipated for photography but we got a really great deal including 3 high end photo albums, an engagement shoot and 3 minute trailer “highlight reel” of our wedding to put on like Facebook or whatever we want. I’m super glad we chose him. Our engagement photos came out great and he got us about 20 prints in TWO days and had the whole gallery (about 120 prints) ready in about 2 weeks.

Same. 2 photographers, "all day". Not sure exactly when I want that to start. Initially I thought I was going to be doing hair & makeup at the venue. Now I might be doing that in a hotel room. I'll probably talk to the photographer about it when we do our engagement session next month.

This is what ours did too. I think we paid for 8ish hours total. He arrived around 1 and left at 9. We didn't do a send-off so I really didn't care how long he stayed. He got some great dancing shots and obviously all of the important stuff from the reception but as the party continued we really didn't care about 100 dance photos. They are fun to look at but not needed when finding places to cut costs.

I booked mine for 7 hours. I originally had it for 6 but added an extra hour closer to the planning. I had her from 2 to 9. She arrived at 1:30 for set up and detail shoots. We had two photographers so everything was happening simultaneously for both of us. So this was more less the timeline:
2 to 4:30 she did getting ready shots, open presents, getting dress with my mom, first look with my bridesmaid, some bridal shots, a few family shots, and first look with dad.
    4:30 to 5 ceremony.
5 to 6:30 family photos, bridal party photos, bride and groom photos while cocktail hour for all guest.
    6:30 entrances.
    7:40 to 7:40 dinner.
    7:45 to 8 speeches.
8:00-8:20 cake cutting & first dances.
8:20 to 9:00 dances, bouquet toss and garner toss.
It was never rushed and in reality all you need of open dance floor is a 15 minutes to get good pictures. After that it gets very repetitive.

I have mine booked for 9 hours. 11am-8pm. That way she can capture us getting ready through the cake cutting and some of the reception. We aren't doing a send off.
