We are likely going to have to do our own rehearsal dinner because my FH family has yet to offer or bring it up. We are going to do a lunch rehearsal at the venue the day before the wedding then I am hosting a luncheon for my bridesmaids, mom, MIL, grandmas, aunts etc. It will be my thank you to them for all they have done. There I will also pass out my gifts. My mom suggested doing a backyard bbq in place of the formal rehearsal dinner. We shall see...

We aren't having a formal rehearsal dinner. We will all be staying at the resort and having dinner together the night before. It'll be whatever everyone decides to eat.

Our girls day the day before the wedding(nail salon), will be a lunch thing, but a light one.

That night, in lieu of an RD, I'm hosting FHs surprise 30th birthday party :-)

After that, are the parties! We have too many people out of town, so doing them before then, doesn't work whatsoever. And idk who else would pay for the reception except the bride and groom?!

You could skip that part tho! Get married at 2pm, and have a cake and punch ceremony! Or even do a DIY desserts bar, with brownies, cheesecake bites, cake pops etc.

Do meat/veggie/fruit trays etc, versus a full menu ;-)

We are having BBQ Rehearsal Dinner at the local community park around the corner from the church. We rented out the pool area for 3 hours for mere dollars. We are cooking everything that day, and family and friends will transport while we rehearse.

We found a local Irish bar that has a private room we can rent out for free..so we'll have the rehearsal dinner there and cater some food. I think crack and barrell sounds perfect and delicious

We will be having our rehearsal dinner at a local grill and bar (great food and atmosphere). We chose three entrées that our 26 guests can choose from (steak, chicken or pork) and pay for unlimited tea, soda and coffee. If they want alcohol, they'll pay for it as I do not want people getting hammered the night before our wedding.

We're only spending about $700 with tip for 26 people.

We will be doing our rehearsal at our venue then going back to our house for pizza and drinks. Nothing big!

Our reception will be after our ceremony at our venue! We will have a buffet style dinner. We will have around 150 people.

I would love a rehearsal dinner at Cracker Barrel!! Unfortunately, I live in Canada so I dont have easy access, but it is by far one of my favourite restaurants in the US.

We are doing our own for probably 12 people. We havent decided where we will do it yet, I guess it all depends on how much the venue would charge vs. going out somewhere. FH really wants to just go to a restaurant, I would rather Pizza or a BBQ and save money.

My parents are hosting ours, as the wedding is in my hometown and my FH's family lives a few hours away, and they offered Smiley smile it'll be in their house (and hopefully backyard, depending on weather). My mom is going to get catering for it, and then we will provide some beer and wine. It'll be informal for sure, so that people can come and go as they need, and also because there will be a few small children there so we want them to be able to run around! Don't worry about doing something big and expensive at all. I don't think that anyone really expects that! Do what makes you happy, and if you like the food there, then that sounds perfect.

We are hosting our RD. We were thinking of having it caterered, but once we started cutting the budget; this was the very first cut. We are looking to spend about $200 on food, beverages & desserts.

My in-laws did a BBQ for rehearsal and it was delicious and well received my my bridal party.

We actually had Ruby Tuesday's do a drop off buffet for our wedding reception. It was only like $9 a person and surprising delicious! Not being bias, but I've only had food a one wedding that was better, and I've been to a LOT of weddings. I also found a few other drop off buffets on EZCater.com. So much cheaper because you are not paying extra fees or gratuity.

We r doing our own reception. About 100 people. We couldn't afford much either. We're doing fried chicken or pulled pork sandwiches (buying pre made). We're having family pitch in with sides: green beans, salad, cheesy potatoes, fruit salad, and a few others I forget right now.

If u have GFS store they have a menu wizard that is really helpful in estimating costs and how much of each item u need. I have a spreadsheet of everything broken down. If u want more info message me.

We are doing a taco night for the rehearsal dinner of 56 at FH's parents house. For the reception we are doing fired chicken and cheeseburger sliders for 126. We didn't want fancy, we are doing a rustic wedding and with a lot of kids coming that was the best choice.
