how many of you are offering filet mignon?

R+J, on August 14, 2014 at 11:50 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

My venue offers the following entrée options:

>salmon dijon

>chicken parm

>chicken francaise

>pork tenderloin marsala

if I want to offer filet mignon, its an extra $30 pp. right now I am at 85 per guest, if I add 30 to that, you do the math. how many of you brides are offering the steak at your nuptials?

Not us! I am not a FM or steak fan for most part, could care less about prime rib. Give me the chicken parm!

I am but we are doing a buffet and I have two options for a carving station, either prime rib or ham and then two more meat choices from a selection of five.

No filet mignon for us, but we will have steak tips. FH is a real red meat lover.

That's a lot of $! I don't blame you. We're offering it, but it doesn't cost us any extra. If it did, we wouldn't offer it!

We are but it doesn't cost us $30 per person extra, I wouldn't if that was the case either.

We are? I love a good steak! That sucks it costs extra. That's the only thing that was suggested that we're doing. The rest of our menu is our own ideas. We wanted to completely personalize it. I love food! LOL

We are! We have two options. 1. A duet plate with filet mignon and poached salmon or 2. a veggie lasagna option

We have the option, but it's out of our price range so we will be offering a different beef option. Just a suggestion: If you choose filet mignon, make sure you ask how the chef cooks it so you can let your guests know. The caterers that I've talked to only serve it one way, such as medium rare, so a guest who prefers theirs cooked well done would probably be disappointed.

We did. But then again, I had so many gift cards at the restaurant where we held our reception, and so few guests, that I could afford to have top of the line food and drink. Other choices were lobster, crab cakes, or salmon.

We have a grilled sirloin option instead just because of how our menu worked out - we are doing stations so it just made more sense... $30 seems really steep... like REALLY steep!

Yeah that's a lot for Filet Mignon. I wouldn't do it.

We offered filet mignon to our guests. The filet and salmon option were the most popular. Our chef prepared each steak to the liking of each of our guests who picked that option.
