How many of you bought disposable cameras for reception tables?

I'm toying with the idea. I figure it'll give the guests something to do, and I may just get some nice extra pics out of it. If you did, how much did you spend? I'm estimating 17 tables to buy for at this point.

Back in the day they were the thing to do. In this day in age everyone and their grandma has a camera with them 24/7. Save your money.

We passed on that idea and decided to do a instagram hashtag or wedpics.

    LOL nice hashtag

Make sure you have service in your venue! I know it's silly, but FH's phone gets nothing from AT&T at our venue. I probably get service (verizon), but my phone is a simple brick.

I downloaded the wedpics app. I like it! People have already logged onto it and are commenting on the ONE pic I uploaded. LOL.

Thanks for all the help, ladies.

I swear, if I use that hashtag, that'll be the name of the very first posting after my wedding! LMAO!

Tatiana - I was JUST thinking about that last night as well. Mainly because I set up a WedPics account and sent the little cards out with the invitiations, but no one signed up yet... Smiley sad

I think I'd pass on the disposables though, unless it's a day wedding outside. Mine is indoor and dark, so I know the pics would be horrible.

Tatiana- with WedPics, you can send the invite to sign up for it via email or text. I sent it to people before the shower so they could upload their shower pics all to the same place. it worked out great. after I sent that invite via text, I texted those same people and asked them not to take pictures during the ceremony. I've also spread the word via word of mouth and I'll have my officiant announce it before the ceremony starts.

once all the pics are uploaded, you can post the whole album to Facebook. if you want to see how mine works/ looks, pm me and I'll exchange info with you and send you the link.

My cousin had them at his wedding, and all the kids ended up running around with them. The pictures were not worth it.

I am using the app also. I'm ordering business cards from vistaprint with all the information on it. You can add a line in there to please upload on the app versus fb.

I'm also doing a variation of the iSPY game, that will hopefully get me some nice shots in addition to what our photographer will capture.

My friend had a different experience from everyone else with disposable cameras. She said she absolutely loved the pictures (the majority of them). Because it showed her different points of view from her guests and what they saw. Of course you'll get some inappropriate pictures but those can be tossed out. She said it was well worth it. She even got funny pictures out of her grandparents and family members/friends who usually just sit and hang out (and aren't super social) I say you know your guests the best. If you feel they would use them in a useful, memorable manner go for it. Smiley smile You can always create a hash tag as well for those who rather use their smartphone. But for the grandparents and older crowed, I think the disposable cameras would work awesome.

I would do an instagram hashtag. Such as:

I don't really like disposable cameras because the pic quality is never very good. I had a bride do it at a wedding once and it ended up being poor quality pictures and I don't really care for it.
