How many people are invited to your bridal shower?

Natalie, on March 20, 2019 at 10:15 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 19
My sister (MOH) is planning my bridal shower she suggested we invite all my close friends who live near me (family lives 6 hours away)
the problem is I’m not the best at making girl friends I’m better at dealing with guys and most of my friends I did make that are girls move away from here after graduating so I don’t have many people to invite to my shower.
Anyone else have this problem?

I don't have of close girl friends either, but I invited approximately 40 people. That included both moms, my brother's fiance and his brother's fiance, three of my coworkers, my SIL who is also a bridesmaid, my other bridesmaids (which included my sister, the wife of one of the groomsmen who I am also good friends with, and 1 other coworker), my bridesman (only guy invited other than my fiance, but he is on my side of the bridal party so of course I include him), my other SIL, my great aunt, my 1 female cousin, his like 8 aunts, his 3 cousins' signficiant others, 2 of my mom's friends, my 2 grandmothers, his groomswoman, the wife of one of his groomsmen, 1 other female friend of his and my tutor from elementary that I kept a close relationship with.

We had a list of 35.... and now it's 3 (decide to forgo a formal shower and just a have a girls brunch with my mom and my aunt).

I wouldn't worry about hitting a specific number, just invite the people you truly want to be there wether that's 5 people or 60 is up to you.

Some of them do live far away and I already know they won't attend, but I still wanted to invite them because it is the thought that counts and I left it up to them to decide if they wanted to travel for it. I also have no clue when or where my shower.

My guess is my shower won't be where I live. We live in Maryland and my family lives in Pennsylvania and his lives all over the place.

I plan on inviting all the women that I am inviting to my wedding. Aunts, cousins, friends, etc. I Know that not everyone will make it because both my FH and I have family that live out of state

None! I opted out of a bridal shower. I also knew it would cause issues if i has one and invited some people who I won’t invite to the wedding.

Why not invite people from out of town? Some people will travel especially if they have family that lives there still.

My mom invited about 50 to the shower, and there will be just under 40 in attendance! It’s female relatives on both sides, as well as some female family friends and a couple of my friends Smiley smile

My MOH and my mom are planning and I think they said they invited about 40-45. It's relatives on both sides, family friends, and my friends.

Even though your family lives far away, does FH's family live close? If so, you can include them in your guest list. Otherwise, just have a small intimate shower with a few of your close friends.

I have I think 37 names/addresses on my list to invite. That's just mainly my family members (aunts/cousins), close family friends who are near my hometown and my bridal party. I'm not inviting those who are more than an hour away just because I din't think it's that big of a deal and I wouldn't drive that far unless they were a really close friend - so I don't expect others to drive that far.

I've been to a shower that was only 8-10 people and it was still a blast. We were able to sit around and chat with each other which was nice.

I kept my list small, so only 15 people. My family insisted that I have one even though I wasn't really into the idea. I only invited the women in mine FH's close family, and my bridesmaids.

I wanted something small and traditional. My MOH is planning the shower and my FMIL offered her to host it at her house. I invited 24 ladies, though I knew when inviting that my mother, 4 cousins, and aunt who live in AZ, NV, and SC (I'm in NY) wouldn't be able to make it. Most of the ladies invited are family. Other than family I only invited the ladies in my bridal party and 2 friends. Just the closest of the close and I am really happy that I went that route.
