How many people are using your pets in your wedding?

Ryan and Haleah, on January 18, 2015 at 10:17 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 33

My animals are very important to my FH and I so we would love for all our animals to be a part of our special day. The cats are hopeless as they are big fat chickens, but we will be using our two Bostons as the ring bearer and the flowerpup. I will also be riding into the ceremony on my horse. I am so excited to see how it all turns out!

Anyone else using your own pets, and what part are they going to play?

My dogs didn't really play parts....groomsmen I guess. They were walked down the asile. One stood with a groomslady during the ceremony, the other sat next to my friend in the front row. It was perfect.

We can't really have my parrot in our wedding, but FH wants to have one of his feathers incorporated into his bout, which I thought was a super cute idea. I always tell my parrot that even though he won't be there, he is my best man. Smiley smile

We get our fur child in 3 sleeps. A border terrier. We aren't sure what we are doing but we picked a ceremony venue that allows dogs and would like her to be part of it. We will have to see what her temperament is and how she deals with crowds.

I wish we could use our pets. My pit bull is 13yrs old, and her hips are going. My 10 year old male cat is nothing but a cry baby, and my 6 year old female cat is afraid of being outside and people she does not know.

We're trying to think of how to incorporate our Boston Terrier..... Initially she was going to be our ring bearer. Now my nephew is doing that job but we are toying with the idea that he has my ring and our Boston has FH's ring. He got her before we started dating so he was originally his little girl. Pets at weddings sound like fun though I've never seen it!

That is awesome I love that people are bringing their pets into it, and I love the idea about incorporating your parrots feathers in!

@S.W. so funny you have a Boston as well! One of mine is actually blind so I am having my mom pull them down in a wagon. Maybe you could do something like that. It would be adorable to have your ring bearer pull your pup down!

I'm pretty sure our chihuahua would bark, growl, and shake at everyone while our 70 pound pitbull would jump on everyone then poop everywhere. I don't know why he poops so much. He's on a feeding schedule lol. Maybe if they were a little more well behaved and someone could take them home, but right now they're too much of a handful.

@Ryan and Haleah I've had other dogs but I really have a soft spot for Boston's I don't know what it is! That sounds so cute your fur baby in a wagon! Pets are members of the family and if it's doable I think they should be included!

We would love to. Our dog is our world and we miss him terribly when we don't have him with us. It just isn't practical for the wedding.

We opted to include him in our engagement pictures and we are so happy we have professional photos of him to cherish and keep.

My basset is going to be at the wedding in a bowtie, and in the pictures, but he doesn't have an actual role in the ceremony.

As of right now, I'm planning on using pictures of him with number signs for table numbers, since we won't be able to have him there. I'm also hoping to have the dog with me the night before so we can go for a nice long walk in the morning before I start getting ready. I think our hotel is pet-friendly, but still trying to decide if I want to have him stay there all day while we're getting married or just board him with his doggy uncle (future in-laws live pretty close to our venue and have a dog) and let him do fun activities like swimming.

I can't wait to see all the BAM pics of the pet fam taking part in the wedding. I WISH we could do something like this but my dog is just way to hyper and an attention whore lol He would want to be pet by everyone as he's walking down the aisle.

We have a German shepherd/lab puppy who will be almost a year old on our wedding day but he will not be included. Dogs (like children) can still be unpredictable and I would prefer the focus on us rather than an animal. But that's just me.

I would love to have our 3 furbabies (beagle, Weimaraner and GSP) at our wedding, but we're getting married in Hawaii so it just won't work Smiley sad I really want to incorporate them into our engagement photos though, and maybe have something symbolic of them on my bouquet or something Smiley smile

I want our doggie (toy poodle/bichon mix) in our wedding as the ring bearer. Still not 100% sure on logistics but we totally want to make it happen.

That sounds awesome! Our dogs would go crazy and would just want to visit everybody so we won't be using them!
