How Many People Are You Inviting To Your Rehearsal Dinner?

Lisa, on September 13, 2021 at 4:54 PM Posted in Parties and Events 2 47
Are you combining your rehearsal dinner with a welcome party and inviting your whole guest list? Or are you keeping your rehearsal dinner invite list limited to just wedding party/immediate family?

We are inviting 10 just the wedding party, officiant, and parents. We can get in practice and go eat and enjoy sometime together before the big day.

My parents are hosting a "welcome dinner" for their family who are all traveling out of town. They're getting a private room in a restaurant and inviting 35 people.

We are making it a welcome party but not inviting everyone on the guest list. Just the family and extended family members who are flying in. We have about 55 people for rehearsal dinner and I only have 12 days before the big day. So much excitement and nerves

We are doing 40 at the rehearsal dinner (bridal party/their SOs and both our families-families are pretty big). Then the welcome party immediately after for any guests already in town! (Which will be a lot)

We are inviting around 35. Bridal party and their spouses. Parents and their spouses and officiant. 98% of our guest are local so no need for a welcome party.

In our circles, the rehearsal dinner is only for those involved in the ceremony and significant others. No plus ones for singles. Siblings/parents and traveling guests not involved in the ceremony are invited but may be invited to an optional welcome party in someone’s home or wherever it’s hosted.

Wait can we do that? My rehearsal dinner will be maybe 15 people and I don't want randoms at such a small event. Bridal parties plus ones can go to the wedding

We had about 20 including us. Bridal party and significant others, parents, officiant and his wife, my brother and his girlfriend, and then we had 3 out of town guests (long time family friends of my dad and then my husbands husbands uncle). It was perfect.

We are just doing our wedding party (and their SOs), parents and siblings. We had originally thought about doing a welcome dinner for everyone, but several people pointed out that it would make the reception dinner the following evening feel redundant and less special. So we decided to do a thank you brunch after the wedding instead.

Very cool that you're able to keep your rehearsal dinner guest list small!

Very cool! I'm sure the out of town family will appreciate it, and it'll be nice for everyone to get to spend some extra time with family who you don't see as often.

We have 47 being invited but we know that only 42 will be there. But that is everyone in the wedding party and plus ones and our parents, grandparents, godparents and aunts. I have a very close family so that is as small of a number that we could get to

That's around the number we're inviting too (somewhere around 30-35). That seems like a good size for a rehearsal dinner!

The only ppl that are coming to our rehearsal dinner are those involved in the wedding and his grandparents. So wedding party, my parents, his parents, his grandparents and our officiant. We are also having a thank you/ holiday bbq that the ppl that weren’t invited to the wedding can come to.
