How many people are you inviting?

How many people are you inviting to your wedding?
After the past 2 years being the “years of the micro wedding”, are you excited to go against the trend and have a big blowout?? Or will you continue the trend of a small wedding? Or maybe even elope?

My fiancé and I discussed eloping, or even just having a small wedding but we ran into several snafus
    1) I come from a small church community and there were too many people I needed there to constitute a “small” wedding.
    2) His sister had a small wedding earlier this year and left out all of his extended family and they are still bitter about it. She even used COVID as a reason but they still were not happy.
So in the interest of keeping the peace, and having people o care about there, we’ve invited 175 guest, which was actually less than I was originally thinking!

I'm hoping to keep my guest list at 100!

We're inviting about 180. A handful of thise are overseas, so they will most likely decline, but we're still expecting 150 at the very least. My fiancé has an enormous extended family who are all very close so a "micro-wedding" isn't really an option or it would cause hurt feelings.

My FH's family is huge and close. Small wedding wasn't an option for us, especially after other family did micro weddings during covid. So, we invited over 225 people. But we are actually getting married with just the two of us and our two officiants (close friends) a few weeks before. So kind of best of both worlds!

We are inviting 75 people, but I know at least 15 won't attend.

I think we will have about 40 guests. These are both relatives and friends. I want all my loved ones to be around on this day.

I actually really wanted a smaller wedding. like maybe 150 guests or so but i let our parents invite people and it ballooned to 250.

i've been to weddings with 70-100 people and i really liked that. it felt like large enough to be a big event but also small enough to have more time to spend with each person

We invited just under 120. Most is my fiance's family, which is large (and very supportive - they always attend each other's events and catch up often throughout the year). We have ended up with just over 90 people, which is about 78%. I've organised loads of large events for work and between 70 and 90% attendance is about average for most things. I do think without covid, we'd have had a few more of the interstate people come, but I think the number we have is a really nice sweet spot, to be honest.

We are inviting 150, which is a small wedding for my area. It’s 95% family and a few friends.

We both only have contact with one side of our family. Me - my fathers side and him - his mothers. That already cuts it down a lot. On top of that we have a VERY small circle of friends and Because we’re getting married 4 hours away we’re not inviting certain people that we would’ve invited otherwise if we were getting married nearby

We wouldn't be able to afford a big wedding, anyway we have friends and family too spread out to manage it! So ours was pre-pandemic and now, always meant to be around 50 guests. We're really looking forward to having fun this summer without lots of rules though and my fiancé FINALLY seeing his family after years separated thanks to quarantine regulations of other countries. Smiley smile
