How many pounds of petals????

Kari95630, on July 9, 2009 at 1:28 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

I'm looking to line the ceremony aisle way with rose petals, as well as sprinkling them on about 10-15 table tops around the centerpieces. Does anyone have a clue how many pounds of petals that is??

Not sure how many punds that is but you might need to check with your venue first. Real flowers stain floors and table linens and they get really mad when that happens. Although, all of our wedding flowers were real we used silk flowers for the flowers in the aisle.

For your tables if you end up using fresh flowers you may only need like 2-3 stems per table (you wouldn't believe how many petals are tucked away in one rose bloom).

If you go silk e-bay has vendors that sell them in packs of 100 or more for like $3/bag.

    Good Luck!

I forgot to mention that my ceremony and reception are outdoors in my parents backyard and all the centerpieces/bouquets/etc will be fresh flowers.

Well, how many tables are you having and how long is your aisle?

Also, are you looking for a heavy line along the aisle or just a light dusting on either side. look at the pictures and tell us the look your going for. That will help.

The lines will be thin lines and there's 10-15 tables.

I buy petals in bags of 50-75 heads of the color I want. One to two heads per table top, depending on how densely covered you want. Aisles cand be sparse, dense, or just the edges, and it depends on how long of an aisle you need to cover.

I'm told that if you go to the grocery store floral department, you may be able to get dmaged flowers for a low price, but you'll have no control over color. Your best bet is to have your florist get them for you, as they get quality petals in the right color and will know how many to purchase for the look you want.

Here is a link to a flower petal calculator. It will tell you how many you need to order based on what you are doing with them. It was extremely helpful.
