How many seats per row?

Maui K, on April 11, 2017 at 6:47 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

How many seats are you planning on having on each side of the aisle? I was thinking 6 or 8.

I am literally having this conversation with FH and my mom right now and just e-mailed my wedding planner/venue to ask how many there are. But yes, I was thinking 6-8 as well!

@Wendy how does it depend on the guest list? I'm having 53 people. Venue has room to have 6 on each side of the aisle or 8

Because if you have 8 on each side that's actually 16 per row, meaning with 53 people you'd only have 4 total rows. Is that what you want?

It really depends on the size and shape of your venue. Six on each side with a few to spare will give you five rows.

I remember at my venue tour, the lady kept saying "13 rows" when I asked if there was enough room. We're looking at 150, so she would have roughly 11/12 people on each side in each row.

ETA: forgot to say, so the guest list does matter.

It looks like my venue usually does 8 per side. I think that looks nice.

I see what you all mean now. I wasn't even thinking about walking down the aisle (or lack thereof if I have too many people). Is 5 rows a good amount?

5 rows is fine. Is your venue asking you to plan the seating arrangement?

Erin, no. I'm trying to figure out how many aisle chair arrangements I will need so I can tell my florist Smiley smile

    Thanks everyone!

Crap! I didn't think about this either! We're having about 240 at a backyard wedding. 10 rows would be 12 on a side- that seems like a lot!

And if I have 12 on a side, who else gets to sit in the reserved front row besides parents and wedding party (grandparents have all passed)?
