How many signs is too many?

Britten, on June 25, 2017 at 3:09 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 41

I have the following right now for my reception: bar sign, food sign, cake flavor sign, favor/guest table sign, sign for IG/FB sharing, and a large welcome sign. (Signs for food/cake is for people with allergies - buffet for food, and 4 different cupcake flavors). I will also have something for the seating chart, but haven't gotten there yet (ideas are welcome!!)

Social media message can just be condensed into the Welcome sign.

I think if they are spaced out enough and each one serves a true purpose you are fine. I just wouldn't add anymore.

That's a lot of signs. Definitely don't need more.

I don't particularly care for signs, I think people can figure out things for themselves but for food allergies/buffet it makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't stress too much, I never notice them at other weddings.

I got bored reading how many signs you have. I can't imagine how bored I'd be actually reading all the signs. Too many.

If there is a purpose, I would place a sign. Other than that, I don't see the point of signing the obvious things n at some point...it's just too much clutter/takes away from the decor.

    Singing "signs,signs, everywhere are signs"...

"Do this, don't do that. Can't you read the signs?"

    Dats TEW MANY signs.

I didn't have a single sign at my wedding, but I guess the food signs make sense for allergies, even though I didn't have that either. I suppose guests just asked how the food was prepared if they had allergy issues.

I'm not crazy about signs unless they add clarification. For example, I don't really need a sign that says cake. But if the cake is self-serve and the flavors can't be identified by looking at them, I'd have a sign that lists the flavors. If it serves a purpose, than cool. If not, ditch em.

Can you do printed menus for the cake and food instead? Or just small cards on the food tables of what they are?

The only signs I'll have is one at the entrance of the lake of the main road showing people where to turn, a sign in the parking lot showing people which way the wedding is (Our venue is at a lake which is kind of hard to find and will be crowded with public visitors so I don't want anyone to get lost), two picture frames turned into diy sings on the cake table displaying the cupcake flavors, another picture frame turned diy sign on our guestbook table, small cards on the buffet in front of the chafing dishes to label the food. It sounds like a lot but it really won't be.

I'm all into signs so I definitely don't think it's to many. I think it's more a matter of preference and the style and venue of your wedding. Smiley smile any photos of signs yet to share? Post some please when you have them Smiley smile

None of the weddings I've gone to have had signs. I always found my escort card/favor, always found the bar and never felt un welcomed due to lack of said signs. Its overwhelming and unnecessary. is your theme, "signs"?

Would be so cool if special guests Tesla will perform their rendition of Signs at the reception!

All of the "signs" are less than 8.5x11"

I don't care if they were 5x7 - it's still too many signs.

The food sign looks okay though.

    I guess...

We have a welcome sign, a seating chart (does that even count as a sign?), a drink menu and a hashtag sign. I thought I wanted more, but everyone's responses make me think it will be okay!
