How many songs needed for ceremony?

lvnlife, on August 4, 2016 at 2:05 PM Posted in Planning 1 8

I'm getting my music together for my ceremony and was wondering how many songs are actually needed?

Here's what I'm thinking of going with:

1. Guest Arrival/Prelude

2. Wedding Party Entrance

3. Bride Entrance

4. Exit/Recessional

Does this sound about right? How many songs are you all using?

Looks good to me! I didn't even think of music for when the guests are arriving. So I should probably get that figured out

Depending on how big your bridal party is you may need 2 songs for the wedding party entrance. I had a large bridal party so we did 2.

If you have a DJ, s/he should have a repertoire for the guest arrival. You can just tell them the general genre of music, unless you want specific songs.

Ah okay...Could you have them do a few introductory songs that they know really well?

Will you have someone making an announcement regarding silencing cell phones so that people will know the ceremony is starting?

They can play generic music for guests- you shouldn't' need to have to select unless you really want a specific piece.

I think my musican asked for music for the following:

    Parents

    Bridal Party

    groom

    bride

    back ground music

    recessional.

I'm doing one for the "faux bridal party- i.e. all parents/officiant/groom"

    then I have a song.

    Then we leave.

She can play whatever else she wants.
