How many tables/table linens?

Justine, on January 6, 2019 at 12:22 AM Posted in Planning 17 7

I think we have decided to buy linens online rather than rent from our venue. She charges $12 each for rental, and I can buy some for around $6.50 each on yourweddinglinen.com and save money for our budget! The problem is, I don't know how many I am going to need of each shape! The tables are 60 in. round and 6' rectangular. I know what sizes of table linens I need, I just can't figure out how many!! We have invited around 250 guests, but I seriously doubt that many will actually RSVP yes when it comes time. I just need a rough estimate of how many of each to order! I also need to figure in our head/harvest table, popcorn bar table, gift table, etc....

I'm going to go crazy just trying to figure it out!

At 60in round tables you can fit 8-10 people. If 200 people show up then you'll need at least 20 tables. I'd also keep in mind a tables for food, cake/pastries, guest book if you're doing that, and DJ etc. I'm still stuck on this myself because I'm not planning for everyone invited to show up. Just 1/3 of my guest list but may need to adjust that as people RSVP.

    Agree to everything here

Also can you clarify if the rentals are for rentals ONLY and does not include set up/clean up. If those are included I’d just rent them

Just for rentals. She sets the tables and chairs up but we decorate including putting on linens. Our venue orders them from some warehouse, and we just pay the fee she would get charged for cleaning, which is $12 a linen. I'd be saving $200 ordering them online, AND I can resell them after to get my money back.

Hey Justine! This is such a good place to save some money, especially since you found them for almost half the price! Do you know how many you plan to seat at each table, 8 or 10? I would say to get enough just in case everyone happens to RSVP, so 30 table linens! Then depending how many other tables you'll have at the reception, add five to ten more!

I bought our linens from linentablecloth.com and it saved us a TON of money. I think we paid $250 total for the table linens and the linen napkins.

Honestly, we just accounted for everyone showing up. We have a few extra linens from tables that were eliminated from "no" RSVPs but I'm alright with that for the money we still saved.

8-10 people will fit at a table, So I'd just account for however many will fit your max guest count if everyone RSVPs yes.

Also, cal lthe venue and double check how many of everything you will need, i.e. guest book table, food tables, etc. Ask them how many are regularly used and the sizes of them.

I wouldn't wait until the very last minute to order an exact amount because you risk them not being in on time.

Congrats on such a money saver! In addition to what everyone else has said, I would recommend having 8 per round table. My tables are the same and although 10 will fit, they will be squished and uncomfortable.

Question? How many tables and how many table cloths you will need for an U-shape table.
