How many times did you change your wedding colors?

soontobewed2016, on April 24, 2015 at 9:08 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 37

Fortunately, I am out far enough were I haven't actually purchased anything in my wedding colors yet. I am very indecisive and have wedding colors completely different now then I did when I first thought about what they would be. How many times did your wedding colors change before something stuck!?

Mine did not. I knew I wanted Fall colors so I started with the linens (chocolate) and they added complimentary colors. I did however change my table runners from satin to a burlap, and that was very early on in the planning. I also bought a 60 inch table so I could do mock-ups because I have a hard time visualizing things like that in my head.

I've never changed them. I love black and white and those have been our wedding colors from the beginning.

I may be the minority here but I've never had set wedding colors and do not plan on having any. So far has made things much easier. My degree is in art though so maybe it is easier for me? Not sure.

When we first got engaged, I was so into bright colored gerbera daisies & swore that hot pink, yellow, orange, purple & lime would be my wedding colors. After much thought & 2 years of waiting before picking a wedding date - I changed my colors to blush & grey with gold accents.. much more "me".

    Once.

I originally want Purple as my main color with Green and Orange accents like the fist pic.

H's cousin got married about 10 months before us and her main color was Purple so I adjusted to Burgundy as the main color with Orange and Yellow accents.

I edited mine, not really changed. I knew I wanted dark red and FH wanted grey for the GM. Originally I said I wanted black bridesmaid dresses and then changed to red/ burgundy. The BMs went shopping and we are getting black. So we really just added black back in but still are doing grey and burgundy.

Not our cake but pretty much this..

I love the Marsala! I've changed once. I orginally had colors similar to your first choice - blush, light pink, gold. But somehow I saw yellow and grey and love it. It seems to have more "pop" to me so I'm pretty sure I will keep it. But I still have some time so who knows. But I do want to decide by November so I can start buying stuff during Black Friday.

Oh MY goodness, I have had, (and told people, oops) I was going to have a hundred different color schemes for our wedding over the course of the year planning. I am still not sure. AND LOVING the marsala moss dusty rose!!!!! Its my new wedding color! Hope you don't mind, but stealing it. Oh it will probably change again anyway! I spoke to my venue coordinator way back to ask them what colors to steer clear of. My venue is different, its an historic estate mansion, dinner indoors in their two connecting dining rooms, but each room has different wallpaper/carpet, I had only been there once early on and did not get an exact in depth look at the surroundings enough to develop a coordinating color pattern and scheme. I also spoke with a florist yesterday who said that once the bridesmaids pick their shade of dresses to come in an we will make appointment to discuss. By the way ... of course the venue said to stay clear of any color schemes with blue in it (MY FAVORITE ALL TIME COLOR Urggghhh) - I am having a Fall wedding and was going to be one of those brides that didn't have Fall/orange colors. Not so fast. So, I'm not having my favorite colors blue. I definitely want pops of reds, deep reds. But I've changed them over the year a hundred times. (I'm going to try to upload photos of the venue's dining rooms. You will see they are very different. So color coordination for wedding is going to be weird for me ... I guess I might do all nudes? Neutrals.

Once so far (one change that is, on my second palette currently)... although my mind is starting to wondering again and I'm starting to consider new colors.

FW and I finally settled on navy, coral, cream & gold this past October. Now it will seem like we went with the "trendy" navy & coral color scheme when our wedding rolls around THIS October.

    *sigh*

I didn't really change, just debating....I was flipping between Navy and Coral and shades of purple. In the end the purples won out

Three times. We started with sunshine yellow and white because I wanted a brunch wedding. Then evening ended up being our time of day so I went with saphire blue and yellow. After we realized this is Michigan Wolverine colors (we both went to Ohio State) we changed our colors to saphire blue and white. This all happened within a two week timeframe.

I changed mine a million times before we got too invested. First it was peacock colors (teal, fuchsia, lime green, royal blue). Then it went to navy, apple green, and white but FH vetoed the green. So I went with navy, fuchsia, and white. Somewhere along the line I changed drastically to what is actually my favorite color combo: coral and champagne/pale golds with a hint of navy. Anything that would need to be neutral is ivory.

I changed my mind a good 3 times since July. I decided on Plum and silver for our main colors and will do blush and white flowers.
