How Many Wedding Favors Should I Order?

I would order one for every person.

I'm ordering enough for one per person. I think it depends on your favor, though. I recall another thread where the bride ordered photo frames and provided one per couple/family. Mine are chopsticks so I want to make sure every person gets a set.

How much are your favors each?

You could order 225 if you want to make sure everyone gets one? Or you could just put 80 in a basket for those who want it? Or just 125 or so to be given to just the ladies or one per couple.

A lot of people leave the favors on the table since they don't want them at all. Maybe skip it and save the money for a photo booth favor or just a good DJ!

Figure out how much you want to spend on each person and multiply by the number of people. Use 75% of it to get them a nicer favor (notepad, fan, whatever), and the other 25% to buy candy, or some other cheap favor. Then people feel special because they got more than one thing

Also, you could make some favors to cut costs...

I actually ordered way more than i needed. I needed about 250 and made enough for 300. But i would at least order enough for 1 per person.

But then again it depends what they are and how much they cost.

I ordered rock candy with our names printed on them and they were ordered by the bag so it was easy for me to order a couple more bags.

I'm doing a very inexpensive favor: fushia organza bags tied with black ribbon (our colors) filled with Jelly Belly. So I'm doing 1 per person attending, and they will be put out at each setting.

It really depends on what your favor is. If it's an edible - I would do one per guest. If it's more a photoframe or a personalized/monogram favor - I would do half the amount of guests.

However, I would comb through you guestlist first to figure out who you think really won't come. I'm pretty sure they say it's approx. 10% that don't come - but I also think that's just an average.

Our wedding guests are coming from 10 states - so we're only expecting about 70 of the 116 invited.

We are doing one per person plus a candy buffet. Some brides do one per couple though. To cut costs you could buy some (5-10 coloring books depending on the number of children if any, at your wedding) and some crayon packets for them. Cheaper than paying per favor. (depending on your favors)

Yep, one per guest, unless, like someone said, it's more "for the house" like a picture frame. Even if you do a candy buffet, you would have one box/bag per guest...and hope no one takes more than one!! In which case, you could put the box/bag at each place setting.

If your on a budget then there's nothing wrong with doing one per couple that lives together and then one per each single(non-living) together individual. If you can really afford to spend more than definitely do 1 per each guests!! if your doing 1 per person then placing the favor at each seat is a great choice. if your choosing to do 1 per couple and some individuals then placing the favors with the escort cards is nice as well! I'm sorry, but I have to say that the question "What's tradition in your culture?" really rubbed me the wrong way.

I don't think JJ meant anything offensive by it..maybe just a simple question of "Are there any traditional favors being given at weddings?" Idk..I got one per person but mine are candy related.

I went to my best friend wedding in Russia last summer and it was weird...

Russian traditional wedding is different from what people are used to in the United States of America. There are no favors, no rehearsals, bridesmaids, and flower girls.

Depends of your regional. But don't ignore to use wedding favors because wedding happens only one time in life so you will be choosing good favors like flower baskets, pillows, guest books, pens, flowers, rings and gift bags.

We had an outdoor ceremony, so I ordered personalized fans so that guests could fan themselves or use it as a shield from the sun. People definitely used them during the ceremony, but a lot of them were left after the wedding. I'd ordered for 80% of the guests, so in retrospect I should have only ordered 50%.
