My FH and I talk all the time but we also live together. We both make time for ourselves, usually a few hours a week. He may go hang out with his cousins or friends. I got get massages alone, hair, pedicures alone. Sometimes I go eat dinner or brunch with my friends or even alone. Time alone helps ensure that you don't lose yourself in your partnership.

FH and I don't live together yet, but we see each other regularly. We like to give each other a few days for both of us to have alone time. After we're married and move in together, we're going to have time apart because of work, sporting events, etc!

I don’t think there’s one blanket answer. It depends on your level of introversion, your spouse’s level of introversion, your job, and a heap of other factors. “Me time” is vital!

My fiancé and I live together. We spend a lot of time together and a lot of time not together 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 there’s things we do regularly together and then stuff he does alone and then stuff I do alone. But it never seems like we are really apart as I know once I’m home he will be there. Sometimes if we both have been in the house for awhile and around each other we have what I call together alone time 😂 where are are still together at home or in the room and he plays video games, watches tv or whatever and I usually do something like come on here and read stuff.

This is very different in modern day as more and more couples are living together before marriage. I think whatever time allows. My FH works night shift, I work days. We see each other everyday but only talk maybe an hour or less total on the days he works either before I go to work or when I come home before he leaves. I enjoy my alone time, but I do tell him that the rare time he has off that us time should be a priority, not the same people he sees at work more than me or our other friends. If we go out together with friends that is fine. I think it's important not to be up each other's butts and have both mutual and individual hobbies/wants. I agree with Madison that sometimes my FH & I are home together but he plays video games or watches a show he likes (since he rarely gets to) and I'll be on my phone on youtube or something! I think after the wedding he is finally gonna lay up on the overtime and we will get more time together Smiley laugh
