I am super behind on this! I need a musician for my outdoor wedding June 26th. I would really like a violinist, but haven't been able to find any in my area that will perform as a soloist & are available. It's all duos, trios, quartets. One company wants $550 for a duo, another $595. Our priest...

I would really like a violinist, but haven't been able to find any in my area that will perform as a soloist & are available. It's all duos, trios, quartets. One company wants $550 for a duo, another $595. Our priest recommends a harpist who costs $400 just by herself. We're looking at a half hr ceremony tops, with a little music before/after, so only 1hr needed.

How much are you paying for your ceremony musician? How many people for that price? Will you be tipping on top of it? DOes that rate include attendance at rehearsal?

We got a string quartet for the ceremony and cocktail hour - $600. Now I need to hire a DJ for the reception.

I guess I am blessed to have wonderful friends. I have very good friends that sing at renaissance faires and other small events. They are singing at our wedding for free. We also have a very good friend that does karaoke. Since we both love karaoke that is what we are doing at our reception.
