How much beer/wine for a reception?

Megan, on September 21, 2013 at 11:14 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

We are planning on inviting 100-150 people to our wedding. We are serving beer and wine for the reception. How much beer and wine do you think we should supply for the reception? What is the average amount per person?

I was thinking the exact same thing but we are doing 55-70 people! Call the local grocery store with a liquor store and get some prices on kegs and how much they supply

The venue we are using doesn't allow kegs to be brought in because they are too messy. We have to buy bottled beer.

There is a alcohol calculator online. Google it. It helps you figure it outSmiley smile

We are having 90 people and will have a keg and 3 cases of red and 3 cases of white. Plus our sparkling for the toast. Googling it is a great idea.

I think it depends on what kind of guests you have too. We had 120 guests and we ended up paying for 18 bottles of red wine, 5 bottles of white, and 17 bottles of beer.

Watch some of those online calculators, they TOTALLY overestimate. I had one tell me I needed over a bottle of wine per wine drinking person at my wedding.

We're inviting 105, and plan on doing 26 bottles of wine and I think 6 cases of beer.
