How much blue is too much blue?

Jlizzo, on August 8, 2013 at 1:33 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

Hello ladies Smiley smile I am having a June outdoor wedding with my colors being cerulean blue and turquoise. Now everything I see wedding is blue, bue, blue and I can't get away from it! I don't want a smurf vomit wedding thank you anyway! Any ideas on what other color/colors could liven things up a bit? Bouquets, decor, etc? I have put a picture of my BM's dresses and of the venue and how it will be decorated..or close to it anyway! Thank you Smiley smile

It looks really pretty! I'm doing royal blue as my color, and I understand the blue overload. I'm trying to mix it up with silver, purple, and teal.

I was using cerulean blue but the dresses were too expensive, so i switched to cyan by sophia tolli. still similar. my other colors are white with silver accents. I would suggest adding purple to the bouquets...i love the purple and blue together. (i'm using purple orchids with the white parts dyed blue, and some other purples). girls are wearing silver shoes and guys will have silver vests with their blue ties. hope that helps!

Anytime I see "cerulean" I think of X Files....

The dress is pretty - I say leave as is. The reception - I'd remove the blue ceiling drapes and maybe the runners. But the blue vases add a nice touch and maybe blue and white napkins?

I would recommend silver as well. I really like the way you are planning your reception decorations though, I think it looks nice, and doesn't seem overwhelmingly blue

I'm having all blue as well with little pops of lime green to break it up a bit.

Blue is so comforting, though. I like it.

Thank you ladies!! Honestly the reception pic IS at the actual venue, but I'm stealing decor ideas from their site pics...LOL I'm thinking of going with Hydrangeas for the centerpieces Smiley smile

Blue is my main color but we are doing wild flowers so we've got pinks, yellows, white, and purples. It's also beachy / whimsical so we've got pinwheels and sand / seashells.

Im doing blue as well. Royal blue, Silver and Lavender. I really like your decoration idea. Its very pretty. Embrace your smurf if you want its your wedding and up to you but silver is def a great addition and then maybe a lighter softer pastel to clean up the color mix.
