We are having only 50 people. We are currently around 9k. The budget was initially 6k.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. You budgeted $25k and you went over budget by $3k, you were incredibly close. The real question is: did you have fun? Smiley smile

I am curious and have been following this! But total budget amount doesn't say anything because it all depends on location and guest number. I live in one of the most expensive cities and my budget is 30k for 50 guests. This is lower than the average even when the number of guests is considered.. Hope people living in NYC can relate to this.

Honestly, my wedding budget is pretty high comparative to everyone else's, but it still doesn't feel like it's enough! It's crazy how expensive weddings could really be! My budget is about 65k with 100 guests. I'm in southern California, but there are things I definitely could have saved money on, but just chose not to! We already booked the venue, dj, photographer and videographer. We definitely splurged on photographer and videographer but they are just so essential to us. Everything else is just what we're hoping to spend max on. Here is a rough estimate of my budget breakdown:

My venue is about 26k, photographer and videographer is about 13k (full coverage, separate companies, both with second shooter). Dress and accessories is about 2k. Bridal hair and make up is about 850. Groom's attire is about 1k. Cake and desserts is about 800. Rental, decor, and flowers is about 7.8k. DJ is about 1.6k. Stationary is about 1.3k. Officiant is about 650. Transportation is about 1.3k Favors and gifts is about 900 (photobooth). Bridal Party is about 1.4k (hair/make up & gifts). Rings is about 850. Rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch is about 3.7k. Hotel is about 650. Everything should be including tax and tips as well! I made a mistake to not include that in the budget beforehand. I'm hoping things wouldn't cost as much as I budgeted for so we could save.

I'm still early on the wedding planning process so some of these prices are subject to change.

My fiance and I moved into my parents house and we've been using the rent and food money or any money we really could afford to set aside to essentially save up for the wedding. Really thankful to my parents for this! I'm also thankful my fiance has a in-demand job!!!

We are having 70-80 people and would really like to stay under $9K. So far we are looking good at about $8,500, including ring, dress, food, everything except honeymoon because we are not going to go on one for a few months. Luckily we are able to have the ceremony and reception at my house which helps keep cost down, but that is a trade off for a lot of work that a venue would normally take care of. I'm a big fan of DIY and keeping things simple/within your means!

Hi! My budget is 15K but that includes our honeymoon. We wanted a bigger honeymoon than wedding so our honeymoon is throughout Europe (if it is opened by then) and too a decent part of our budget (about 6K with flights). Our venue is at my parents property so we saved money there. Plus, we have family and friends that do florist, catering, and others. So even if your budget is smaller, use resources and have conversations.

Our max budget is $15k and my parents, bless their hearts, are helping us with at least $10k. We're trying to keep it less than $13k and look on track for that, so it's nice to be spending less than originally planned. Venue is $3900, food and drink will be about $3000, attire and rings about $2500, photos $1100, and those are just the big-ticket items. No matter what though, you'll be able to have your wedding at your budget, you just have to find alternatives and look for deals. We are also including everything wedding related, like our rings, even though that's not something people always put into wedding budgets.

We didn't really go into it with a number to be honest, and we are lucky enough that the cost is being split between our families. So far we are at:

    4K DJ
27K Catering (but that's for a Friday night meet and greet dinner, wedding, and Sunday brunch and includes open bar for all three days)
    7K Dress & Alterations
    5K Venue
    5700K Photographer/Videographer
    1500K Live musicians for ceremony/cocktail

So we are at like 50K give or take so far but we haven't dealt with flowers, décor, cake, invitations and I can't remember what else haha. Our wedding is a three day international affair though with 180 people so based on that I don't feel like it's an insane number.
