How much did it cost to write your prenup?

FH and I agreed to a prenup ... until I started researching and got a $2000 to $2500 quote! I know attorneys charge a lot per hour, but I was thinking our prenup would be pretty simple. If you looked into or got a prenup, how much did it cost you? Also, could you please provide details about how complicated the prenup was (roughly), what city the attorney is in, and if it was an independent attorney or someone at a large firm?

I'm looking over the law and I think we actually might just agree with the way the marriage property rights are laid out for our state, too, so we're having second thoughts about this whole prenup process ...

My fh has a lot of debt and we live in a community property state. I want to make sure our debts and finances stay separate so his financial issues don't affect me. (He has lots of medical bills.) We're not planning on addressing any divorce issues, just want it on record that our finances are separate. I spoke to an attorney who said it would be about $2k, but to me it's worth it not to be on the hook for his debts.

We are planning a prenup not due to money but due to debt. I have hefty school loans that my partner does not want to be responsible for in the event of my death and a prenup and provide that protection; keeping all debt I have accrued before and during a marriage as solely mine and my responsibility

We are working on ours right now. I think we'll each end up about $1,000 to each our lawyers.

Well for instance, I started a business that I started for us. After 3 months of trying to get her involved she decided she wanted nothing to do with it. I now make my living solely for this business. We got a prenup to protect the other co-owners. In the day where divorce is high, it is the smart thing to do for all parties

everyone should look here for a great option for an affordable and more comfortable prenup process. HOWEVER, having an attorney review and advise each of you decreases the risk that the prenup will be attacked in court if there is a divorce, in all states...so do spend a little bit more to get it done right!
