How much did you spend (and where did you get) your Flower Girl baskets?

Meesh, on January 19, 2016 at 3:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

Because we have 5 nieces between the ages of 4-6, we are including all 5 of them as our flower girls. I am starting to look at ordering their baskets and holy cow are they expensive! We don't need anything fancy, or big. Where did you buy your flower girl baskets, and how much were they? Anyone know of any cheap places to look?

You could wait until around Easter. There's always tons of baskets everywhere. I'm sure you could find plain ones and add ribbon, or other decorations for fairly cheap.

Most I saw that were reasonable sized were $40, there are some on Amazon for like $20 but they look so freakign small.

Hobby lobby. They have a wedding aisle but they also have regular baskets and you can DIY them.

That's what I'm finding too Kathryn! And I'm not sure I can fork over $200 for baskets that will be used for 1-2 minutes! I'm okay with smaller sizes, since we have 5, they don't have to have a ton of petals.

Ask a friend who's been married, or had a kid as a flower girl! Or if you have a DOC, sometimes they'll have decor and extras they can throw in (mine has vases, chalkboard signs, etc)

You might also look for clearances on easter baskets at the end of March. They're often small and pretty.

Looking in April at easter baskets is a great idea. I bet for like $10 you could get something really nice.

I'd wait it out till Easter or hit Hobby Lobby when they are on sale. I DIY'd, but our flower girls passed out ribbon wands before the wedding and then walked down the aisle with small bouquets. Had I not done the ribbon wands I would have had them pass out sweetheart roses to the women then they entered the church.

Our florist is providing it with the petals, you could always ask.

50 cents at a thrift store. Going to spray paint it white and decorate it (or maybe just leave it).

I spent $1.99 on mine from the thrift store. It was already spray painted gold and I added two little pick bows to the sides of it. I did not want to spend a lot since it is literally used for 2 minutes in the ceremony.

EBay, spent about $15 for a cute white satin one. It was small, but definitely not too small once I saw it in the flower girl's hands. It held enough rose petals. You don't need a giant one
