How much did you spend on your dress?

ViciousHamster, on November 15, 2016 at 2:10 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 237

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay (~$2300). If you've gone over budget for your dress, how much did you pay (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Was it worth it?

Well I unrealistically started at $400...and ended up at $950...but am so happy with my dress. I think its all about what you think is appropriate.

Mine was 2300 as well and I started out with a 1500 budget but once I put that dress on I knew it was the one and I thought to myself.. I'm only doing this once and so I bought it and haven't regretted it at all. So I say go for the one you love.

I didn't want to spend over 1k, FH wanted me to spend whatever it took to get my dream dress. In the end I ended up getting it on sale for $600. I'm happy with what I spent.

I knew that I wanted something I felt beautiful in. I "set" a pretty lose budget and was actually able to stay rather close. I wanted to stay under $1500 and ended up with a dress and veil for $1650.

I had a 5k budget. Then I fell in love with a $5300 Lazaro gown. The salesperson offered it to me for 5k. Then I found out I had to pay $300 sales tax, on top of that. That was after she made me fall in love with a $950 Lazaro belt. Then came the cost of the veil - maybe $350 and my sister later wore it, and $400 for alterations.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have said I only had $5k to give, for everything, to that store. I loved the gown and everyone loved it, but I readily admit to temporary insanity.

$1350. Wanted to stay under $1000, so we've just adjusted in other areas.

I went in with a $1,000-1500 budget. Ended up spending $1500 on Saturday. Totally worth it. I'm so in love with my dress. I know with alterations it'll be more in the end. But we have it covered.

I think it just depends on where you go and what you can afford to spend. Don't put yourself in an uncomfortable place financially.

I originally wanted to spend $500, but I couldn't get a particular dress off of my mind. Ended up buying it for 975, not including alterations.

I do not regret it one bit!

I was lucky and found my "dream dress" at a consignment shop.

If $2300 is in your budget and it is the price of dress #1.... you should get it.

My budget (on my own) was originally 400, but dad ended up buying my dress though and I had a $1000 budget. I ended up buying a sample dress in fantastic condition for 985, it was originally a 1500 dress
