How much did you spend on your dress?

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay...

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay (~$2300). If you've gone over budget for your dress, how much did you pay (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Was it worth it?

$100 haha, I can't see myself spending hundreds on a dress. I LOVE my dress and it doesn't need any alterations, and I bought the veil for $2 with free shipping on Amazon.

Got it from Davids Bridal on sale 20% off for about $450 (more than I wanted to spend). Minimal alterations totaling $150

It really depends on the budget. I found my dress for $1600 including train alterations but I had several runner ups under $800!

My mum and I went looking, I said to her its bloody stupid paying thousands for a dress for one day, she agreed. Walked in 3rd dress i tried on.. everyone was in tears including my Mum (who is a hardass and ever cries) ended up $2000 including all alterations that need to be made.. changing the sleeve style and adding belt and all of that. Mum ended up paying for it for me as a gift. This was over a year ago and we have never said we shouldn't have done that! Hahaha

$388 and change for the dress.. 20.00 for the shoes... still need to take it in for alterations.. that will probably cost more than the dress.

I started out with a budget of $800 but ended up buying a $4000 dollar dress. It was the only item i splurged on and my grandmother bought it.

I didnt want to spend more than $1000 and my dress was $500...if you really love it you should splurge and maybe cut costs elsewhere...its your special day

$332...including tax. But, it's technically a bridesmaid dress! Score!

$1,700 without alterations. I originally set at budget of $1,500 but was more than willing to double it for the right dress. You only get to have your dream dress once and you'll know if it is right.
