How much did you spend on your dress?

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay...

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay (~$2300). If you've gone over budget for your dress, how much did you pay (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Was it worth it?

$1600... got 20% off, but with tax the price of coarse went back up. Haven't included any cost to alterations yet.

Got a $6k dress for $1,100 via sample sale and it will cost $300 more to alter. Well technically the sample sale price was $2500 but I negotiated pretty well and got them down to $1100. I initially wanted a to rent or buy something during the David's Bridal $99 sale. We had wiggle room in the budget so it was fine but I wouldn't have spent more. Call around salons and find out if they have sample sales.

$1200, with a 20% trunk show discount. Another $300 for belt and veil, and $500 for alterations. A bit more than I had wanted to spend, but I really love my dress. I had tried on a ton of dresses and had kind of given up finding something I truly loved until I found this dress.

My budget started at $3,000 and I was fine until I started trying on dresses. Then I felt bad about spending all that money on a dress. I started going to sample sales and found my dress. Originally $2,000 I payed $700

$200 for a sample from DB, not including accessories or alterations. I'm having a very low-key affair with a small budget.

My original budget was 1000 for everything (dress and accessories) But I paid 1400 for the dress. And alterations will come with another hefty price tag.

I'm not sure why I even have a budget sometimes.

Mine was 1199 before tax and alterations, so ended up being about 1500 total after all was said and done. That included the veil too. I went in with a 1200 budget, and the dress was perfect but of course the alterations and tax adds on quite a bit to that. I loved my dress and wouldn't have changed it! Smiley smile

Went in with no budget, but didn't WANT to spend over $2000 for moral reasons... Ended up picking a dress for $750.

My budget was $2,000, $2,500 all-in with alterations and veil. I spent $1,900 on my dress so right on budget!
