How much did you spend on your dress?

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay...

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay (~$2300). If you've gone over budget for your dress, how much did you pay (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Was it worth it?

I bought a prom dress (navy and gold, chiffon skirt) for $720 Canadian. That was more than I would have liked, but we are planning everything in 4 months, so it didn't leave much time to wait to find deals.

My budget was $1500 and after 6 bridal shops and countless dresses I ended up falling in love with the very last one that was $2800. I knew immediately it was my dress, I didn't want to take it off and I didn't want to put on any other dress. Was it worth it? Dear god I hope so, we will see in a few months. My only saving grace is that there is no sales tax in MN on clothes.

@mlw I love your little sweater, was that from DB's too?

My self-imposed budget is $300 (Not including shoes). But I'm doing a sweater/skirt combo so hopefully this works out lol

Top of my budget is $800. $400 to be realistic. Fell in love with a $200 dress. (Less than my high school prom dress!) I can't justify several hundred dollars on a dress. (Hell, just $100 for a dress is hard for me to swallow, but I'll bite the bullet for one of the best days of my life)

My dress was $2500 plus tax. Between veil, headpiece and alterations, add another $1500ish. I work at a bridal boutique so of course I got a good deal tho, thank God.
