How much did you spend on your dress?

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay...

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay (~$2300). If you've gone over budget for your dress, how much did you pay (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Was it worth it?

I started at $300, bought a dress from ASOS... then went to another store and ended up buying one for $1100 and returning the first one. haha

I didn't really have a budget. I just didn't want to get crazy. Mine was 600 and the alterations were 140 or something. Pretty sweet deal, if you ask me. Smiley laugh

I had the opposite problem as many PPs. My budget was about $**** (if it was something SPECTACULAR). The two dresses I fell in love with were $450 and $880. I chose the $880 but it was a difficult decision. Loved them both and glad I was well under budget. Will need it for alterations.

Mine was 1,350 but I got a 200 dollar discount which knocked it down to 1,150 without tax.

Uugh......I spent $1400 on my first dress ($1600 if you include my veil) then for unfortunate reasons, purchased a 2nd dress for $1200. Although I didn't have a budget in mind per se starting out....I most definitely didn't plan to or am I happy about how much I have spent thus far in dresses....that's not including alterations and accessories! :+(

My dress has been the best thing ever. My grandma bought it for me and her and I are both over the top. My dress is a Lazaro and came in at just over 5K. It's my biggest splurge of the whole ordeal, it's amazing and makes me feel amazing. It was the best part of "wedding" so far.

$1400. My plan was to stay under $1000. I still need a veil and alterations. Oops! Lol

My budget was $400 and after a 20% veterans discount, I only went over by $34.00. Smiley smile

My budget was $500, but then my cousin and my dad each contributed $500 each so I could have the chance to find my "dream" dress. I burst into tears over that, like I just won a million dollars. My dress was $1350, no tax because I bought it out of state! I was going to skip a veil but my mom bought me one, it was $150 I think.

I spent $800 and it was a splurge given my total budget. I absolutely feel like it was worth it.

I couldn't find a dress I really liked until I saw one off of a wedding resale group on facebook and got mine for $140 but it's normally a $600 dress.

My budget was 2500 and I was lucky because the dress I loved I got for about 1500 not including alterations, haven't done alterations yet so I'm not sure how much those will be

I didn't really have any idea what I was looking at spending on a wedding dress. My dress was $1100, my accessories were $200 and my alterations were $500. I spent close to $2k but it was worth it.
