How much did you spend on your dress?

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay...

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay (~$2300). If you've gone over budget for your dress, how much did you pay (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Was it worth it?

My budget was $700 with alterations + $100 for veil. I didn't look at dresses that wer more than $500. I ended up buying one for $230+ $130 for veil.

Best advice, don't look at any dress that is above your budget. And certainly don't put it on your body. I started by looking online and searching by price. It helped me find what I liked within my budget.

After alterations my dress and veil will be roughly $1,800. My dress itself was $1,080

$625 without alterations. I wanted to stay under $500, but was willing to spend $750. I ordered it yesterday and I don't know if I can wait till April for it to come in!

Maybe look for a store that's having a trunk sale with that designer, it should reduce the price by at least a couple hundred. My budget was $2k for the dress and I actually got my dress for $1400 but splurged on a $500 veil so it evened out haha

I wanted to keep it under 2k. It ended up being 4K. My mom split it with me. She's a saint.

BECAUSE LOOK AT IT. God I love it.

Mine was 1900$ (I had a 2,000$ budget) and after taxes, veil, and alterations I'll probably be at 3,000$.

My budget was $1500, my dress was $1300 once you add in alterations, the petticoat, and longline bra I needed I am well over budget. But my veil was only $25 at a consignment sale, so I guess I saved there. I do not regret my dress. It will be exactly how I imagined my wedding gown, I'm having the zipper changed to a corset back.

Budget was $5k. Dress was $4800 but got it for $4200 since it was my first visit there. Had it shipped out of state to me, avoiding several hundred in taxes. Ended up needing minimal alterations ($80) and got a stunning veil for $400 from Mantilla Company. Wouldn't change a thing.

I wanted to stay under 1,200 with alterations. I got my dress at an outlet for $650 . Going in for alterations tomorrow. Hopefully it won't run me a fortune.

My budget was $1000 and I spent $1800 plus alterations. It wasn't something I wanted to compromise on and I could afford the increase so I was fine with going over.
