How much did you spend on your dress?

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay...

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay (~$2300). If you've gone over budget for your dress, how much did you pay (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Was it worth it?

I didn't want to spend more then around $1500 but when i found my dress i knew and my husband said he wanted me to have the dress i felt most beautiful in. I ended up spending $2200 before alterations.

$500. Got the dress on clearance. Spent $500 on alterations.

    My budget was originally $1500.

    Glad I spent less.

I went to three bridal shops. Fell in LOVE with a dress at Bhldn that was $2500 and they "accidentally" put me in.

My dress and veils (there's 2 pieces) were $2300.

ETA: My budget was $1500-$1800. I did go well over but wouldn't change it. I love my dress.

I told myself I didn't want to spend a lot, just a personal decision. I ended up getting a dress (at DB) for $450, and it really looked beautiful. My very simple veil was $30. My alterations were almost as much as the dress.

$1800 plus $250 veil and $195 belt. Plus $300 in alterations. Remember it's not just the dress.

I'm actually really disappointed that I haven't seen people spending over 10K. lolol. I'm not sure why.

    $81.99.

It wasn't about the price, but it just so happened that the one that was the cheapest was the most comfortable and the most "me".

Found mine the first time in NYC for 2100, then bought it closer to home in CT for 1750. There are so many beautiful dresses out there for less though!!!
