How much did you spend on your dress?

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay...

I'm shopping for dresses and am wondering what is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress. I know it depends on my budget but I'm not going to buy a dress based solely on cost --I won't pay up the ying yang either. The dress I like is significantly more expensive than what I was hoping to pay (~$2300). If you've gone over budget for your dress, how much did you pay (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Was it worth it?

I had an unrealistic budget of $500. My mom paid for my dress and I didn't want her to spend too much. In the end, she paid $1300. Still uneasy about the cost but I feel absolutely gorgeous in it.

I ended up buying a long tulle skirt and a top. 120.00 for the skirt, 30 for a shrug and another 30 for a cami to go underneath. All together I spent 180.00 bucks for my outfit.

Might have been cheaper but I wish we had found a way for me to have a proper dress. The one I wanted was $500.00 and that would have taken up a good portion of our budget.

I started with a budget of 1200 but ended up paying 2200. But I don't regret it one bit!

Budget was $2000. Ended up spending aprox. $2300 for the dress, veil, belt and headpiece. This included taxes.

I LOVE my dress and can't wait for it to come in!

Totally blew my budget by falling in love with a specific Hayley Paige after seeing it on a bride in my florist's Instagram feed, stalking the style and then going to try it on.

My wedding was last Sat, and I can say it was absolutely worth moving money from other line items in my budget--I did not want to take it off!!

I went in with a budget of $700 and ended up paying $80 for the dress. It looks like alterations will be $60-80. Could not be happier Smiley smile

My budget was $1,000, but went to a wedding expo and had a 50% off coupon for davids bridal. I found 4 others at davids bridal. But when I found mine, I knew it was the one. It costed $349.99!

$200 for my ceremony dress, $75 for my reception dress, another $200 for alterations so just under $500 total

My budget was $700 and I paid $650. The dress was originally $1200, but it was a discontinued dress and it was the last one in the shop. Don't let the consultants put you in a dress outside of your budget. There is a dress that you will find within your budget, and it isn't worth falling in love with one you can't afford. If you're nervous about them doing that, tell them lower than you actually are willing to spend and hopefully they will stay around that.

I had a 2k budget. Originally went after a $2300. Changed my mind to a $1200 dress. And it's wayyy better.
