I just got a quote on my hair and makeup and it'll be about $160 for both and that seems reasonable to me, but my FMIL said it seemed like a bit much.
This cost includes travel to the venue as well. So I'm just wondering what you all paid for your hair and makeup.
That's a great rate. For bridal hair and makeup (in Denver) the lowest quote I got was $150, and the highest was $260 and that didn't include travel. I contacted around 20 artists.
Mine will be 150. And yeah. I didn’t tell my mom this. According to her everything about my wedding is “a bit much”. I find that parents don’t really understand that things just cost more today.
This is all dependent on where you live. I personally think that's a great deal, seeing as my hair and makeup will cost me $135 each, so roughly $300 total (tip-included).
My hair and make up will be $180 for the wedding day, not including travel or the trial. I think $160 including travel is a good deal! That’s pretty standard, from what I’ve found in my search for a HMUA, you can let your FMIL know that! Wedding hair and makeup is so much more expensive than it is for a normal event, because they work hard to make you look perfect.
Mine is 280 all together! so i would say that is reasonable!

That sounds like a great deal to me! I guess it may depend a bit on where you live but I would jump at that if I could find it and their work was good!
In Northern Virginia, just outside of DC, I’m paying $175 for hair and then $175 for make up so I think you got a great price! Rates are really going to vary based on location and level of stylists experience.
I'm in central florida, right between Tampa and Orlando, so I'm thinking this is probably a great deal. I forgot to mention that the price also includes the hair trial and the makeup trial is only $30 extra. Thank you all for your feedback! It really helped. 😊
That doesn’t seem like very much at all! One of my bridesmaids is a cosmetologist so she’s doing mine for free (yay) but she said she and the other people in her salon usually get payed several hundred for wedding hair/makeup so you’re definitely getting a good deal.
I'm spending $420 for both of mine! But mine includes a complimentary trial for hair and makeup, a blow out for the rehearsal and makeup for the rehearsal dinner, my wedding day hair and makeup, and a 20% tip.
That's actually pretty low. That's what I'm paying for my HMUA and she doesn't advertise as a wedding professional, she's just my normal hairdresser and knows my hair well.
The other artists I contacted wanted around $80 PER PERSON with a 6 person minimum and it did not include travel costs or the trial.
