I just got a quote on my hair and makeup and it'll be about $160 for both and that seems reasonable to me, but my FMIL said it seemed like a bit much. This cost includes travel to the venue as well. So I'm just wondering what you all paid for your hair and makeup.

I'm paying $110 for both but my cousin is doing my makeup so it's a bit cheaper.

For my sister's wedding as a BM alone I paid $140, and that's standard for our area.

$165 for both is a good price.

That is VERY reasonable, especially if it includes travel. I'm looking at quotes of $150 - $200 and there are plenty that are a lot more than that, too. If your FMIL is not paying for it, she doesn't need to know how much it costs.

I am in the Boston area and I've been a client at a particular hair salon for a long time, so my quote is much lower than those my friends have been receiving in the same area. We paid $85 for hair and $55 for makeup (for everyone including myself as the bride). She also did my trial for free.
I told her I felt like I was robbing her, so I made sure to tip well above 20%. I think your quote sounds great - almost too good to be true. As long as you love your trial, I think it's just fine.

I am paying $75 for each. Your price seems reasonable compared to my area of the country. And her price includes travel fees.

I keep getting quotes for $250-300, but I'm in Southern California. So I think $160 is good!

Mine is $195, that includes the hair and makeup trial and the day of with her traveling to my getting ready area.

Wow!! I got quotes and now granted this includes a couple spray tans, a couple sessions of nails, and hair and makeup for trial, e-pics, and day of and it was around $1200!!
