How much did your engagement ring cost?

...If you don't mind sharing! Do you wish FH spent more? Less? Do you think he got a good deal? Did you guys set a budget ahead of time, or did he pick it all by himself? If all these details are TMI for you - just show us a pic of your ring!

Don't know the cost for sure but I have my inclinations and think it was around $10k since it's cushion cut and included a matching wedding band. Ironically this was from a wholesaler out of California (I'm in TX) that I pinned one of the ring pictures to my "secret" Pinterest board!

@Becky. So funny you said that. I used to live in Astoria but worked in NYC so I had to take the subway. I ALWAYS turned my ring around too because I was scared someone would try to take it.

@melissa - its such a habbit now... SOOOO many crazies out and about in the city... When I was "home" visiting in NC I noticed myself turing it just out of habit... like walking into a mall LOL! but hey- better safe than sorry Smiley smile ps- your ring was my initial dream ring! FH decided to get a plain platinum band- but my wedding band will have diamonds Smiley smile LOVE your set!

    ETA- spelling mistake

I honestly forgot what my total carat weight is. I think it's like .6? and another .2 ish in the setting. But bigger diamonds for the same price had inclusions that I could see with the naked eye. I was looking at one that was like .75 and I thought it looked too big in the setting. The clarity and color were both excellent. The band and e-ring together were $3200. I love mine. Excuse the swollen pregnant sausage fingers.

I told him don't spend much and he didn't.

I saw my ring online for $549.00. I am perfectly fine with that.

@Karen the pictures DO do it justice because that's beautiful.

FH got a wood inlay (probably not real wood, but looks pretty darn real) from overstock.com for whoever was wondering back on page 10. I think he paid $12 for it

I won't share what it cost, but here's mine. 2.65 carat Emerald with a diamond halo. All he knew was not to get me a diamond.

23 years ago, Joe and I met the summer before my senior year. I broke up with him shortly after starting school. I didn't know it then, but he had already bought a ring. I know this is crazy... but back then, and in our small town it wasn't that unheard of. Well when we reconnected and he was crazily trying to convince me he was gonna right a wrong, I went looking just to see what was out there, prices, etc... because he was bound and determined to shop here WITH a ring. Well low and behold, in the clearanced designs was damn near close to the ring I always wanted as a younger girl and always envisioned myself with. It was a 1/3 marquise center stone, with a baguette on each side. Way back when I wanted a solitaire, and a wrap for my wedding ring with 2 small baguettes on each side. But I loved the sentiment of *past* (because of our dating history), present and our future. Had I know then, it was going to be such a looooooong road.... lol

Anyway, the engagement ring retailed for $1450, clearanced out for $850, I believe. Insurance was another $149. Then the enhancer retailed for $1200 something, but we got it on a GOOD sale for about $800. Then the insurance was about the same, $150. And his ring was $1100, but we got his on the same sale for $600, and then another $149 on top of that for insurance too.

This is mine! Nothing too glamorous, I believe it was about $250. FH says he wants to get me a nicer one and I'll get it on our wedding day, but I love this one.

And I don't understand why some people think others want to know how tacky or stupid something is. Please keep it to yourself.

I honestly have no idea. He keeps it guarded like it's a matter of national security.

I picked out my ring and he picked out his ring. Mine is actually sold as a "promise ring" because I told him not to spend over $100 and I wanted it flat as possible because of my work and not wanting to scratch everyone with a tall/larger ring. And honestly, I only wear it on dates and even then I sometimes forget to wear it. I'm just not a ring person, at all. His was on clearance for $25 (it was his Valentines gift since he kept asking why I got to wear an engagement ring and he didn't). He wears it more than I wear mine.

Our wedding bands are about $60 each but they are something we will both love. (No pics of those because we haven't bought them yet).

My ring cost next to nothing, which was my preference... less than any amount listed on this thread. It still has real diamonds and looks beautiful. Instead of dropping a wad of money on the ring, we bought plane tickets for DH's mom, sister and niece to fly across the country for our wedding (they live in NJ, we live in Oregon). They would not have been able to afford to come otherwise. We made the right decision. Simple ring, simple wedding, BIG love.

I don't know how much he paid. He picked it out on his own and I was truly surprised at how much I LOVE it. I was trying on a band with my ring. Unfortunately, we have to get a custom band, which means more money.
