How much did your engagement ring cost?

...If you don't mind sharing! Do you wish FH spent more? Less? Do you think he got a good deal? Did you guys set a budget ahead of time, or did he pick it all by himself? If all these details are TMI for you - just show us a pic of your ring!

We didn't shop together. He picked it out himself & it's perfect! I say he did a pretty good job. And he proposed on vacation in Antigua!

Ummm get it @Becky! Love your ring!

Mine is attached. I don't know the $$ and don't think I'd share if I did! Love seeing all these beautiful and unique rings! I actually didn't like the halo at first but said I wanted a dainty ring so I think he nailed it! Smiley smile

FI and I went ring shopping prior to getting engaged, but we never really discussed budget. We were in the process of buying a house, so he knew I didn't want him spending up to that three month salary rule. I'm not sure what he paid for it, but it appraised at just under $30K. Pic attached.

Show us your ring and what did it cost?

It's kinda tacky to ask that online when you'd never do it in person

    You're all haters.

    There's the short version.

Terrible question. Who cares what it cost ... whether it is $1 or $10 000. it shouldn't matter. People put waaay too much emphisis on price. Seriously, will it make you any happier?

I'll give you the same answer I gave my FH when we picked it out. It's less than his 2014 mustang convertible "play car" in the garage.

I'm going to try this at one of my upcoming weddings. I'll just march up to the bride and ask her how much her ring cost.

And I bet I'll be looking for another job.

@Ceila Exactly! It is an awkward, useless, and tacky question. Why does anyone even care?

So many beautiful rings! I know I'm late but here's mine. The e-ring, wedding band and warranty was 5k. Not sure how much they each were individually.

My engagement ring is like Allison's, it was sold as a "promise ring", but I picked it and I love it. I don't remember the exact cost, but around $500. When we started shopping for wedding bands, it was hard to find something I loved with my ring, so we decided to upgrade my ring for the wedding. The new ring (which I'm calling my "all-in-one ring") was custom made and I have no words for how much I love it. It's valued at $4500, but FH paid less.

It blows my mind how grown women are acting so catty. Is this thread harming anyone? No. Don't like it? Keep scrolling and spare the rest of us from your nasty and negative comments.

Who brought this back to life?! I was getting so sick of the whiny comments - then here it is! Alive again! SMH.

@Celia Cool. Sounds like a great idea. Good thing it's not my job to marry people, and this thread is over the internet where everyone is free to not participate. We get it, you don't like this thread. You've beaten that point to the ground.

Haven't had mine appraised and insured yet (going to do this weekend) but I know the diamond is valued at $9,000 because it is a family heirloom and was already insured. He asked me if I wanted to know and I told him it didn't matter to me (I would've said yes regardless) but he wanted to tell me. His grandparents gave it to him when they found out he was proposing (it was FH's great-grandmothers). He picked out the setting and there are 30-some diamonds on the band. The main diamond is 1.5 carats. Its not at all like what I showed him when he took me ring shopping and not at all what I expected but I love it and its so me!

If I knew I would say but it is still a secret to me lol I know that he had a different ring originally and saw the rings I would pin on Pinterest and didn't think that I would like the one he originally got so the engagement was postponed for a little while I'm assuming but the ring he picked out the second time around I love! It's the perfect size for my hand

TMI... He custom designed to look like an estate ring (I love vintage). His family friend owns a jewelry store so he got a great deal.
