...If you don't mind sharing! Do you wish FH spent more? Less? Do you think he got a good deal? Did you guys set a budget ahead of time, or did he pick it all by himself? If all these details are TMI for you - just show us a pic of your ring!

No idea. He bought it and insured it himself. I've seen the paperwork about it, but it does not have the cost on it, just the specs.

On sale for around $200, sold as a promise ring. We got engaged at 21. If we were doing it now, we'd be ok with spending a little bit more, but we are happily married and I love blue diamonds, they're also in my wedding band.

That's what we got: $1800 for 3ct Radiant forever Brilliant Kobelli Moissanite. If it would be a diamond, I would say about $20,000

She love it so much. The style is amazing, everything was great

My original engagement ring (on my pinky) was about $2600 20 years ago. My upgraded ring was about $25,000. How much did your engagement ring cost? 1

My ring was on sale originally I think it was like just under 3k but since it was on sale it was 2400. With taxes and the damage protection and all that I think he said he spent around 3200. I was comfortable with that. the band that i will get with it is about 1200. I didn’t want him to spend a ton but I think 3k is reasonable. If you go by the old fashioned way of “3 month salary” then it was a bargain! He makes close to 4K a month so in comparison I think it’s fair. How much did your engagement ring cost? 2

About $160. We got it on Amazon, and it’s simulated opal and sapphire set in white gold. I’m fine with this, would be fine with more, would be fine with less — in fact, the wedding bands we’ve picked out for elopement and until we have more money are CZ and not even set in gold, but are gorgeous nonetheless!

So don't respond? Not everyone thinks it's a tacky question. You can legit ask anything wedding related on this site. Just because you're super sensitive about it doesn't mean you gotta rain on everyone else's parade. If you don't like it, leave then instead of posting an irrelevant comment- bye.

Tacky comment. Why? Because some people actually wanna share and just bc you don't doesn't make it tacky. You just wanna be seen so bad that you added your no value comment.

Your post is tacky for posting that despite others posting the answer willingly.

This question is FINE. If you don't agree, then simply MOVE ON. Anything wedding related is allowed here. How do you know if someone wants to know how much people usually spend for engagement rings? Just because some of you assume the worst, or feel inferior when others share their ring costs doesn't mean you can force those feelings on other people. If you don't agree, then just move on without typing and whining "Omg, so tacky, omg so terrible" unnecessarily. Clearly, the question wasn't for you nor did it ever force you to answer. So, why you still commenting? To grab attention?

I love this thread because I think it'll help soon-to-be couples shop!

We didn't have it in our budget for a diamond ring (my dream ring was between $2200-$4800) so we went with moissanite three stone ring. We got it on sale for just under $800 with a 14k white gold setting this time last year. I love my ring BUT I will say 2 things about it: It is gorgeous, but the three stone setting I chose seems too high in placement for my lifestyle - specifically because I work in sales or am running around in meetings/errands and the height of this ring tends to get snagged often on products or my sweaters (sometimes I have to take it off).

On affordable rings - most people can't tell that it is not diamond ring (for those wondering). I will say that now I am searching for a more minimal diamond band to wear every day (I want a plan wedding band when we marry) so I can pop this girl out on special occasions. I don't regret my purchase at all! When I was first trying on settings a sales woman told me that often she sees couples change ring settings or styles after the few years. It's normal! (Don't mind the sun spot below!)

We looked together his budget was $5,000 and i knew i didn't want a diamond center stone i saw the tabitha ring on Rosados Box and instantly fell in love it's a morganite center stone and im so in love to this day. I believe he only spent right under $2,000 including the wedding band. I do want to upgrade my center stone a little bigger but only because he's always saying it looks too little and he wants to also so now I've got it in my head lol

Prices are different in Australia, but my set cost just over $10k. Peach sapphires are denser and therefore smaller in face-up size for their carat weight, but my center stone is a 1.7ct natural peach sapphire, flanked by diamonds, in a rose gold setting. The wedding ring is the same - tiny peach sapphires and diamonds in rose gold.
