Hi Everyone,

I am curious how much your wedding cost all in and if you had to increase your budget after starting to get pricing.
I always thought 30k could get you A LOT but I am finding out money goes a lot faster than you think. (We are just in the beginning stages of getting pricing).
I am curious what your initial budget was and what you actually spent for the entire wedding (including dress, tux, hair and makeup, venue, food, alcohol, photographer, videographer, music, stationary, flowers/decor, linens, wedding bands, wedding gift, rehearsal dinner and honeymoon)?
I am finding out 30k is not going nearly as far as I thought it would.

What is the best way to spend under 20k? All venues I've seen are 15k starting! I just want an outdoor mansion/backyard vibes small wedding!

A lot of this is definitely going to depend on where you live, how many guests you have, and how much you're willing/able to do yourself. We're in a really high cost of living area on the central coast of California. Our budget for the wedding (not including honeymoon) was about 10K and we ended up spending about $200 over that for our wedding with 75 guests. The honeymoon, including lodging, gas (we drove there and around while we were there), activities, food, etc. was about 2K, so our grand total was about 12.5K. The average in my area, for just the wedding not including the honeymoon, is about 28-30K.

There were quite a few things that we didn't bother with which helped keep the cost down. What we skipped: save the dates, physical RSVPs (all done online), programs, flowers, welcome bags (most guests lived in the area anyway), signs, professional hair and make up, favors, videographer, wedding planner.

There were also quite a few things that were gifted to us. 1) My cousin is a pastry chef and she made our wedding cake at no charge. 2) A close friend is super crafty and made our bouquets and boutonnieres at no charge. 3) My uncle is a winemaker and only charged us for half of the wine we purchased from him, the discount being our wedding gift. 4) My husband is a plumber who actually does work at our venue. They gave us discounted rates on quite a few things because of that.

But I'll definitely echo Rebecca: Please, please, PLEASE don't compare your budget to others. Everyone's situation is different.

We are in the home stretch (75 days to go!) and all in we are at about $31,000 for 100 guests in Las Vegas. We initially said $14,000 excluding attire, rings & honeymoon.

I forgot to add that my future in-laws are paying for the rehearsal dinner which is another $8,000. So just under $40,000 all in.
