How much did your wedding dress alterations cost?

Keep in mind that I live in a very pricey area and my entire dress was covered in lace...

My alterations cost a little over $1200, and I had them done with the in house seamstress at the place where I purchased my dress.

I had the bust taken in, the waist raised and the hemline raised (I'm short). She also added a bustle to my loooooong train (required 3 hooks and 6 loops). The seamstress did a beautiful job of removing and reapplying the lace to every area that she altered.

I paid $350 for mine

If you are going through your bridal salon you should plan to pay 550-700. If you go through a private seamstress you are probably going to get custom pricing based on what you need. I would say anywhere from $300-$600. If you are doing any custom work you can expect to pay as high as $1,200 if the customs are extremely extensive.

I paid $650 to have straps shortened. The dress hemmed and a bustle. This is in Alexandria, Va at the bridal salon where I purchased the dress.

I paid $950 for a high-end alterations place in a major city. The dress was pretty basic satin, but I went down probably two sizes since I bought the dress. I was happy with the result.

I didn’t need any alterations I only needed my bustle done. My dress fit beautifully so only $130. I got so lucky

The place I’m getting my dress is charging $600

So far it’s have not paid anything to have the dress altered. My dress is simple though. I can not wait to wear it.

My alterations are going to cost me $600 which I find to be pretty expensive but its the same place I ordered my dress from and I don't want to take any chances by going to somebody else.

Mine will be free, I come from a family of professional seamstresses.The dress was under $200 on Amazon and the veil was under $20. The quality is actually really great too…it’s just really long lol.

My Dress was $700... quoted $175 for alterations by phone, so when I was told almost $500 in person, I was shocked & given a discount. Needed bottom hemmed.. too long with heels still. I pick up my dress on Friday. 🤩 Hopefully Perfect! Best Wishes to Everyone !!

I did not get my dress altered yet. I have not found a place or have gotten an price yet.

I had 2 weddings. My first one from the wedding dress store cost me $900 and the dress was 3K.
My 2nd dress I went to someone I found on Yelp doing her own business from home and paid $400 with a very good tip.

Omg, mine $500, then guess what, not even wearing that dress. $80 Amazon dress was the winner. I'm pissed but I shouldn't have rushed. Will still need one minor adjustment on this new one but it's the better dress.

Mine cost $250 for alterations. I had a near catastrophe with my dress as they ordered the wrong one. I picked up my dress from alterations one week before my wedding. The store covered the rush fees.

I paid $450 for the dress and $400 for alterations so far at Davids Bridal.

I paid 155.00, I needed a hem and it was taken in in the back
