How much do spend on bridesmaids gifts?

Hello, I was wondering about how much do you spend on bridesmaids gifts to give them the day of the wedding?

Thanks!

I spent roughly $130 each! It definitely hurt cause I have 7 bridesmaids, but I love giving gifts and wanted to show my appreciation for them all! Definitely worth it to me. I think it's more about the thought of the gift(s) than amount, of course Smiley smile what are you thinking?

I spent around $95 for all 3 bridesmaids, 1 flower girl & both sets of moms. I have my ladies their bags at the rehearsal dinner. I gave the moms their bags privately, before the rehearsal dinner, a few days before the wedding.

There is no set amount that you have to spend! Whatever you feel is right. The thought behind the gift matters is way more important than the price. I'm still trying to figure out how much to spend on my bridesmaids, I keep finding things that I want to gift them (especially since we postponed from 2020 to 2022), so I'm trying to figure out where to draw my limit on what to spend.

I'd recommend establishing your budget first and then shopping for thoughtful gifts within that budget. I bought each of my BM's Kate Spade handbags as well as a few other items (bits and pieces from Sephora, monogrammed oxfords for getting ready, etc) and while the bags weren't to be used for the wedding, I wish I'd shopped for them individually. I got so overwhelmed (I had 9 BMs) trying to make it even but personalized, etc that I kind of panicked. I've seen quite a few of them use the bag and it wasn't inexpensive (~$400 each) but I also just don't feel like I knocked it out of the park. I did write them each a card about our relationship and how much it meant to me, and that was probably the best part and the piece everyone liked the most!

I think I ended up spending about $30 per bridesmaid, but one of the things they each got was gifted to me to give to them. Otherwise it would have been closer to $100 per person. Honestly, though, spend what you feel comfortable spending. I've been a bridesmaid for a wedding where the bride was super crafty. She knitted personalized things for us using supplies she already had, so what she really actually spent on us was time. Honestly, I MUCH prefer the scarf and drink koozie she made me to the necklace and earrings my cousin gave her bridesmaids (which we were to wear in her wedding and I sold in a garage sale less than a year later).

Most people hand off those gifts either at the rehearsal dinner or while getting ready. I chose while getting ready because I wanted it to be a more intimate thing with just my ladies. It was nice to be able to spend a little bit of more casual time together with them before diving into the tasks of getting ready.

There is no magic number. Spend what you can comfortably afford. Be aware that more bridesmaids means more money spent on gifts.
