How Much For A Dessert Table?

JaMiCK, on September 19, 2017 at 5:51 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

We're having a dessert table for our 200 guests...our desserts include:

- cupcakes

- donuts

- bibingka (filipino mochi)

- cascaron (filipino sweet sticky rice balls)

- puto (filipino sweet rice cake)

How much pieces of each dessert item should I get?

Is this sufficient for our dessert table?

Any other dessert suggestions?

@FB99 I'm ordering from different vendors....cupcakes from a grocery store bakery, donuts from Krispy Kreme, and filipino dessert from a family's coworker! I'm reaching out because I don't have that option! Thank You!

Take the number of your guests and order 1 1/2 extra then divide it with how may types of dessert you have. By the way, puto with cheese on top is awesome!!

Ok, I assume you're Filipino (so am I). My rule of thumb is to order more food than what you need since it's better to have left overs than to (heaven forbid) run out of food.

In your case though, since you are having mostly Filipino desserts, do you expect all your guests to try them out? My husband is American born Filipino (we're doing a renewal ceremony for our anniversary) and he doesn't really care for Filipino desserts (although he likes bibingka). By the way, I never had cascaron before. Sounds yummy Smiley smile

Anyway, we're also having a dessert bar and we have 5 different desserts (creme brulee, tiramisu; mini cheesecakes; mini fruit tarts and chocolate mousse brownie shots). We're expecting 120 guests and I'm ordering 160 of each kind , and assuming all would try one of each , then I'll have 40 of each kind extra for those who would want a second helping.

Ooooh glad I saw this! My FH is Filipino & we're thinking of bringing in some separate desserts from a Filipino bakery. I'm looking at adding turon and cascaron to our dessert table & maybe even seeing if our caterer would be cool with some lumpia during cocktail hour. I'll probably end up ordering 100/each for 80 guests just because I'd rather have left overs than not enough (plus I figure a lot of my side will be excited to try them since most have never had Filipino food before)

My baker suggested, that I should get 3 pieces per person. I am having 150 guest and doing the mini desserts.

Will there be a served wedding cake as well? I agree 2-3 treats per guest would do, maybe more if there is no cake.
