How much our guests actually drank last weekend

I'm posting this in the hope it may help those of you planning a wedding and supplying all the drink yourselves rather than going down the paid bar route.

It's a nightmare trying to work out what your guests will get through and if you are responsible for all drinks you really don't want to run out. We panicked in the end and overbought but better to be safe than sorry. Below is a list of all that was consumed at our wedding last weekend. First here are the wedding stats:

100 guests. +20 children. Fairly even gender split so in simple numbers 50 adult women and 50 adult men. UK wedding. I mention the fairly high number of children as I guess this affects the amount that those parents have. Also parents will leave early and some are driving.

Here is what was actually drunk:

Pimms (at the start of the reception) - 5.5 L

Lemonade 18L

Red wine - 22 bottles

White wine 32 bottles

Fizz (for toasts) - 16 bottles (this was way less than we thought as staff were unable to top-up at tables due to Covid rules)

Gin - 5L

Tonic

Cider - 17 cans

Real ale from barrels - 70 pints

Soft drink - Elderflower cordial - 9 litres concentrated (this was popular!)

Sparkly water for above 30 L

The only thing we came close to running out of was Gin. But we didn't quite...

We had actually bought twice this amount of drink as we were nervous. Hope that's a help! And good luck!
