How much time did you take off around your wedding?

Should I talk to my boss about getting the entire week off, even if two are unpaid?

We will not be going on a honeymoon right away, and my time off resets in October.

I'm worried I may regret being rushed, or just not paying attention at work that week!

I am planning on taking two days off before the wedding to get everything in order. Hopefully that is enough time. And we haven't decided on HM dates yet so maybe two to three weeks off after the wedding.

Your wedding is on my birthday!! That's good day!

@M - Holy cow is your company hiring and do they pay to relocate!

I am taking off Wed-Friday before our Saturday wedding. It is 5 hours away and our my FILs are flying FH and I out to Dallas on their plane (thank goodness cuz that drive sucks so bad!!). We are going to come home Monday and go back to work Wednesday. We aren't honeymooning till later in the summer. I purposely rolled over 22 hours vacay from last year into this year so I would have plenty paid time.

I am taking Thursday and Friday off for my Sunday wedding, and I get the following Monday off because it is memorial day. We will be taking 6 days off for our honeymoon.

I'm taking Wed-Fri for my Saturday wedding. I'm still debating if Wednesday is really necessary though. We are doing our RD on Thursday (possibly a religious ceremony as well). Then I'm taking a day after we get back from our honeymoon to hopefully get my name change stuff done. 14 glorious days to not have to work.

We are taking off the Friday before and the week after. Mostly because both of our families are coming from OOT so we are going to spend some time with them after the wedding, so its worth while for them to spend the money coming down.

    Oh my gawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwd not enough!

I worked until the day of the rehearsal and it was way way way too stressful. I would have taken off almost that entire week if I could do it over again. And I would have extended my honeymoon to two full weeks rather than 10 days.

I'm taking off Wed-Fri for our Saturday local wedding. Wednesday I plan to have mani/pedi & last day of tanning, Thursday is last minute errands & rehersal dinner at night, Friday is relax as much as possible (even though I probably wont!!) & sleep well so I have no bags under my eyes! Lol!

My wedding was on a Fri so I took off Tues Wed Thurs. Tues was a me day, packing and getting everything last minute done. Wed I had appts and family came into town. Thurs was just CRAZY. I would suggest taking off as much as you can bc last minute things come up!

If I were in your situation, I'd probably just take the 3 days off since you're not honeymooning right away and since your PTO resets in October.

Our wedding is a Sunday afternoon. I'm only taking off Friday before (I don't work weekends since I'm in an office environment). We are honeymooning right away, so of course I'm taking off time for that, but if we weren't and I only had 3 days, they would be: Friday, Mon, and Tues.

Our wedding is out of town and it's on a Sunday. I'm taking off Weds-Fri the week before that. Monday is a holiday. And then I took off Tues-Monday for our honeymoon!

I'm in the process of interviewing for a new job. I hope this wouldn't be a problem because I REALLY FREAKING WANT THIS JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smiley smile

No right or wrong answer here as it depends on you individually and if you're honeymooning right after. Me personally, taking off 2 days prior to wedding as well as the week after as we are honeymooning for 5 days, so 7 days total off work

We're not going on our honeymoon until 6 months after the wedding, but I'm taking off Thurs and Friday before my wedding, and the Monday after. I want to spend the Monday at home relaxing with just me, FH and our dog.

I just started my job in November. I am taking 7 days off from work. 4 days before and M/T/W after. Our wedding is 4 hours away though and we are going on a mini-moon after. I have been using unpaid days if I have needed to take off so hopefully I will have enough paid days to cover most of the time I will be gone.

We're getting married on a Friday with the rehearsal on Thursday and out of town guests starting to come in on Wednesday. So I'm looking at taking the entire week off so I have time to finish some last minute details before family gets here. We'll both probably take the next Monday and Tuesday off too, just to spend some time together and unwind after the craziness.

ETA: the only reason we can swing that much time off is due to my 2 year anniversary being this year at my job. We get 15 vacation days, plus 2 personal for being here 2 years.

Tuesday-Monday (I wish I had taken the Monday Before and the Tuesday after off too!) The wedding was Saturday but we had guests that were arriving Wed Evening.

We didn't do as much wedding prep on Tuesday or Wed as I expected that we would be doing but that was really nice to finally have some down time.

Wow. I am grateful for my job. I get 4.5 weeks pto a year... I'll probably take the week off before and a week off afterwards.... Give or take.

FH gets 3 weeks a year (less tenure then I have) so he will probably just take off a couple days before and then 4ish days after for our honeymoon :-)
