How much time did you take off around your wedding?

I am at a new job, and get only 5 days vacation this year. I have had to use two of them already - one for Thanksgiving weekend, and one for my younger sister's engagement (I flew home). I will have three days left to use around the wedding, on a Saturday & local. Should I talk to my boss about...

Should I talk to my boss about getting the entire week off, even if two are unpaid?

We will not be going on a honeymoon right away, and my time off resets in October.

I'm worried I may regret being rushed, or just not paying attention at work that week!

I'm planning on taking Wed-Fri off for a Saturday wedding and then taking a week off after the wedding for the honeymoon.

I am only taking 2 days off for our wedding. We are taking the day of off (it's a Friday), and the day before. We aren't going to take a honeymoon right away, so we will both be back to work on Monday.

I am taking 2 weeks prior too wedding day and 2 weeks post. I like to do home canning in the fall and just because of the wedding doesn't mean I am going to skip my canning so I am using all my vacation at that time.

I took a week off before the wedding, but that involved two days of travel to the other side of the world then getting over jet lag! Then we took a glorious 5 week honeymoon, luckily I get 6 weeks annual leave then an additional week between Christmas and New Year.

I will take a half day on Thursday to wrap up a few things at the office and be off all day on Friday. I will take the next week off work as well for our honeymoon.

I currently get 36 vacation days per year and my unused days roll over. Mine reset in July and I am getting married in October.

I'm taking one full week before, so I can focus on the wedding and not be stressed. We're taking a two week honeymoon, so by the time I add it all up it comes just short of a month.

I haven't taken any vacation at all for a year and a half, to save up for this... so I'm SO EXCITED!!!! for the time off.

I work 12 hour shifts sun-wed. Our wedding is on Saturday and I'm not working Thursday, Friday, Saturday or the Sunday after. So a four day weekend, but Sunday is the only day that's not my regular day off.

I plan to take Thursday and Friday off before the wedding, the whole next week for honeymoon, and come back Monday. I just started a new job a few months ago and don't have any vacation yet (I'm a temp for now) so the whole time will be unpaid. There is a good chance I'll get converted to permanent before the wedding, but I talked to my boss before accepting the position and I still shouldn't have a problem taking the time off.

3 weeks. It was so worth it. I took a week off before which was so helpful to prepare, relax, and let it sink in that I was getting married. We then went on our honeymoon for a week and had a week when we got back. The week after wasn't as important as the week before.

I say go for it and take an extra day or two off. I'm taking wed-wed off for a Saturday wedding. You only get married once! In ten years, you may not be at the same job or even remember what else was going on at the same time but you will remember your wedding! Just make sure to talk to your boss and anyone else that needs to know about it. A nice thank you note to your boss afterwards for letting you take a couple extra days would be a nice gesture too.

I am taking the Friday before (Sunday wedding) and the following 2 weeks. We leave for our honeymoon Monday morning and get back the following Monday afternoon. I am taking the extra time to settle in and get all of the paperwork sorted out for my name change before heading back to the grind at work.

3 days before and 2 weeks after, also 2 scattered days in weeks leading up to wedding. Unfortunately most of it will be unpaid since I used all my time up with Dad. At least they are letting take off still, which is probably against company policy.
